This auction is for a 1979 Fiat 2000 Spider convertible. It should be considered as a restoration project. We are selling it because we have lost interest in this project. We have done a lot of work to this. car, including: scraping off peeling undercoat, and repainting the underneath, new brake lines, new clutch cable,new water pump, head gasket, ignition module, brake pads, fuel pump. carb. kit, and moreWe had the brakes working last year, but the car has been sitting for a year, and now the brakes don't work, probably due to a leak or air in the system.The car will start and run, but it will not idle. It runs OK at about 1500 rpm and above.. It shows good oil pressure and does not appear to be burning oil. The odometer shows 80,000 miles. We believe that the engine has been replaced by a previous owner. Also, the front crossmember appears to be new.There is rust on the body, as can be seen in the pictures. However, the underbody structure ismostly OK There is a area in the driver's side floor that needs repair. The car is not driveable. It will have to be towed or trailered.
