This is a mildly customed 1972 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible. As you can see by the pictures its in incredible condition. There has been a considerable amount of work done to the drive line but I can only point out the obvious. I am selling this for a neice whose husband purchased it from a private seller. The husband passed away very unexpectadly and had only driven the car a few hundred miles at most. Attempts to contact the original seller have been unsuccesful. I have owned many VWs and this one is nothing like any I've driven. Engine starts easily and is very strong. The car pulls hard in every gear and easily cruises at 70mph. It has 4 wheel disc brakes and stops smoothly and effectivly. I believe it may be slightly lowered. It has a Hurst shifter with a reverse lock-out and shifts smoothly with a normal feeling clutch. Most of the interior is new and has a custom console with a kenwood sound system. The top looks new and has a drop down glass window with defrost wire. I believe the headlights are Porsche but I don't see where the body was modified. It has a small after market steering wheel.I have looked this car over pretty well and it appears to be solid with no evidence of rust or replacement panels or floor pans.The paint is nearly perfect with one chip in l/r quarterpanel. The vehicle is in upstate NY and I may be able to deliver the car for a reasonable fee.On Oct-18-14 at 16:29:46 PDT, seller added the following information: So with the help of a fellow e-bayer I've found out more info on this car. It was sold on ebay 3 years ago. It had almost the same milage as it has now. The motor is 1776 cc and has only had approx 3500 miles since it was done in 2005.
