Vehicle Detail
1971 Buick Skylark (GM A Body Chassis w/ 350 Buick)Chassis + Drivetrain The frame is Hayes #6263667 made January 28, 1972 on the 1st shift. The frame and GM 8.5" 10-bolt rear-end have both been sand-blasted and painted with Yearone's Original Chassis Black. The rear-end has also been completely rebuilt with a new Eaton Positraction differential (EAT19557), 3.42 gears, axles, all bearings, and aluminum cover. The drive-shaft has new u-joints installed. Steering-box is a fast-ratio (12:1) unit from AGR Performance #492117 with new rag-joint. It has new four wheel disc brakes purchased from Matt's Classic Bowties, including lines and brake booster + master cylinder (parts that mount to the body, as opposed to the frame, haven't been installed). The front suspension's upper + lower control arms have new bushings and hardware. They've also been sandblasted and painted to match the frame. The suspension has new rear trailing arms (upper + lower) with adjustable uppers from Edelbrock. The shocks are KYB and the springs are Eibach Pro-Kit (#EIB-3856-140). The original TH350 transmission worked perfectly and hasn’t been messed with. The Buick 350 small block also ran wonderfully, and has been upgraded to a factory 1972 4-barrel intake manifold and to the Rochester Quadrajet carb that would be correct for a '72 4-barrel 350 with an automatic (#70442244 KC 1322). The carburetor has been rebuilt. The factory exhaust manifolds have been swapped for Poston Jet-Hot Headers and are connected to a full 3” exhaust from Summit. The engine also has a new HEI distributor with 65,000 volt internal coil from Top Street Performance, a new Powermaster High-Torque Starter, and new water and fuel pumps. The vehicle also comes with a new stainless steel fuel tank + sending unit, including stainless straps + pads. The wheels are Crager Soft 8 in black (15x7 for the front 15x8 for the rear), but there are no tires. Body Rust-remediation on the sheetmetal is not complete. The front windshield, cowl, etc. have been thoroughly repaired by cutting out any rust that could be found, welding new steel patches, and finishing (grinding seams smooth + body filler + primer). The trunk also has new pans. However, the rear-window/trunk area is not finished. A patch-kit for the radiator core support is included and needed. The body comes with the original hood and a fiberglass Buick GS hood (bolt-on) from VFN, as well as stock hood springs and lighter ones for the fiberglass hood. The original front bumper has a dent, but a nice straight replacement is also included. The side and rear glass are original, but no windshield is included. The interior mostly needs replacement. It comes with two gallons of Eastwood 2K Urethane Primer Grey (with two quarts of the 2K Catalyst), two 96oz cans of Eastwood's Pure White Urethane (with two 32oz cans of the Urethane Activator), and two gallons of Eastwood's Urethane Clear (with four quarts of the Urethane Clear Activator). These paints are unopened and have been stored in air conditioning since mid-2008. General / DocumentationInspections are welcomed, just send a message and we can arrange a time. I've got the clear title in hand, 80+ receipts for parts and services, even the owners manual from the original owner. It must be picked up, so bring a trailer and a set of 5x4.75" tired wheels to roll it with. This sale includes all parts that I have for this vehicle, but it does not include any tools, equipment, or supplies not specified. The mileage was represented as accurate when I purchased the vehicle, but I can't confirm that the odometer hasn't rolled over before I bought it (mileage is a required field on eBay). An nonrefundable $250 is due within 48 hrs after the auction closes to cover my costs for the listing and related expenses. The remainder of the purchase price is due within two weeks (14 days) of the auction's close or at time of pickup (whichever is sooner). Thanks for looking, and please don't hesitate to ask any if you have any questions, and please share this listing with anyone who might be interested! On Oct-13-14 at 07:03:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: Q: Fenders other parts do you have? Was car complete when you took apart?Thank you [email address]? The car was complete when taken apart (I drove it ~daily the preceding summer). I have the fenders hanging similar to the radiator core support (more pictures to follow). The steering column/wheel, seats, wheel wells, back glass, dash, instrument cluster, door panels, wiring harnesses and grill are all in the shed along with the carefully removed and cleaned chrome trim. Generally speaking, I held on to everything that could be re-used or that would provide me an example when re-building. Nothing has been sold / parted-out. I want to say all the bolts have been bagged and tagged, but some will inevitably prove missing or too vaguely labeled. Parts that are missing include: most all of the A/C system including compressor, condenser, and the fiberglass cover thing (apart from some vents and the outlets), weatherstripping, the plastic armrests, all jute / soundproofing / cardboard including rear package shelf (except aforementioned door panels), the original jack, original wheels (but I do have the hubcaps), battery tray, a few hoses (e.g. coolant), carpet, headliner + rods, and coathook. On Oct-14-14 at 15:19:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Videos: More Pictures: On Oct-14-14 at 15:30:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Since embedding the videos does not appear to have worked, here are the links:Cowl + Interior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEicO4Xf7y0Side of Cowel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex84OxEwMLECore Support + Stock Hood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAXtazl2tOkFenders:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w4-iDJHPOkOn Oct-15-14 at 16:31:34 PDT, seller added the following information: As you may have noticed from the original pictures, I stored many of the parts on shelves. These parts have now been largely packed into boxes for easy loading. Here is a collage of a few of those boxes with their labels, but before that: Check out the original Owner's Manual and safety inspection slips. The pink one on top is from June 19, 1972 and has "new" handwritten on the very bottom edge (off camera). You can see, the first owner was Mary Russell in Sarasota, FL. Note, I've covered the address because - while she has since passed away - her son still lived there when I purchased the vehicle and met with him to have the title transferred. On Oct-19-14 at 14:18:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Here she is, all packed up and ready to go. The body has been bolted down to the frame on all four corners. The parts that can fit into boxes have been loaded up and labeled. The title here and ready to be signed over.
