Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 84 Carrera 3.2 to make room for another Porsche. I am the 3rd owner of this wonderful car and it is my first Porsche. I have enjoyed taking this car to club events or just driving along PCH from Malibu to the 101 up to Santa Barbara. The car has always been a California car, so no rust. It does not leak oil or smoke. It passed the CA smog easily with below the average numbers in emissions. Has never been in an accident. The engine was fully rebuilt in Nov. 2006 by Specialist Inc in Santa Monica and currently has 22k miles since the rebuild. I have the invoice to show total bill of almost $10K. The 915 gear box was supposedly rebuilt, but I did not get a copy of the invoice. However, my mechanic wound up doing an engine out service to open the transmission and he confirmed that it had a lot of shiny parts and all the synchros, dog teeth ...etc looked good. The A/C system still has R12, but a recent hose and receiver dryer change with re-charge early this summer has the it blowing cold with no leaks. Some of the recent service: 1) brake fluid flush 2) new brake hoses front/rear 3) brake pads 4) gear oil change 5) oil change 6) two new rear axles with CV joints 6) clutch cable 7) rear sway bar drop links 8) A/C hose 9) fuel filter hose The car had major service last October 2013 (oil/filter,fuel filter, air filter, distributor, spark plugs, valve adjustment, valve cover gaskets etc...) All four tires have 6k miles with original 16in Fuchs wheels (staggered 7/8). Targa top is very good condition. All 5 gauges work including the clock! Both power windows work! Blaukpunkt stereo with CD works! The car was repainted over 7 years ago, but was done properly and still looks great! (The only flaw now is a pencil eraser-sized chip that was touched up but not well as you can see in the pics) Finally, the car is not concours condition, but very nice nonetheless. Note: The car is for sale "as is" with no implied warranty! I am not a mechanic, but a Porsche enthusiast. I have represented the car's condition to the best of my knowledge. If you have any doubts, I would recommend that the buyer do a PPI. Also please make sure you are ready to purchase a car before bidding as a sale is a binding contract. If you have less than 8 ratings, please email me or your bid will be rejected. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! I just never liked the styling 2)The aluminum bezels around the gauges are removable if you prefer the stock look 3)The interior is full leather with no cracks on dash/seats/door panels
