1994 is the last of this classic Jag body style. These Jags were made in low numbers, very reliable, and excellent daily drivers. According to the book, "You and Your Jaguar XJ40", only 3464 XJ6 were built in 1994. If you have been looking for a good XJ40 example, you know they are difficult to find. Very few are left in this condition and this low mileage. Car is sporting all of its original body panels and original Connolly leather upholstery. Exterior color is Silver Frost, and two tone interior is Savile Gray/Smoke Gray. All wood is original to the car and is in very nice condition, leather is exceptionally nice, typical wear on driver's side bolster. The Wilton wool carpet is in excellent condition, and comes with an extra set of Jagaur floor mats (from a 95), and one 1994 new-old-stock driver's foot well carpeting -- which is no longer available from Jaguar . Original factory stereo and cd player still work. Engine idles smooth, revs strong and silky through all RPM. These engines run foverer. This car is quick, 4.0 litre all aluminum Dual Overhead Cam 24 valve inline 6 cylinder has 223 horsepower and 278 lb/ft of torque. That was a lot of power in 1994, and it still is today. Engine runs at proper temperature, no puff of smoke at crank up, no oil consumption, no oil leaks, no exhaust leaks. Excellent brakes. Good amount of tread on the tires. The electronically controlled transmission shifts nice and quick in "sport" mode, and smooth in "normal" mode. A unique feature of this model were 3 modes for the transmission, "Sport" for fast performance, "Normal" for increased fuel economy around town, and "first gear delete" for slippery winter conditions. The car is very solid, rides and handles tight. Very sporty and fun to drive. If you are a first time classic Jaguar buyer, this is the perfect starter Jag as it will be very reliable and comfortable to drive. This car deserves a good home that will take care of it and appreciate it. You get the best of both worlds, classic Jaguar craftsmanship and hand-tailored interior with all the modern amenities such as dual airbags, heated front seats, headlamp washers, and heated electric windshield for frosty mornings (rare option). $1800 in recent maintenance. New front shock bushings, new spark plugs, new air filter, transmission fluid and filter changed, new coolant and cooling system flush, oil and filter change, tightened the power steering rack, new interstate battery, new glass headlight lenses (these are expensive and hard to find), new drivers door handle, adjusted front wheel bearings, new radiator mounts, and current emissions test. This car is ready to enjoy. Will need a new headliner as it is beginning to sag in the rear. Also the front passenger's window quit working the other day -- more than likely just a switch. As you can see the car has lots of presence. Paint is very glossy and shiny, but does have scratches, chips, and a few door dings typical of a 20 year old car. Clean Clear Title is in hand, no liens.
