Vehicle Detail

Up for grabs here is a 2-Owner Colorado 1992 Honda Civic VX. This is the model that can regularly get you 50mpg or more if you drive it gently. The way it does this is that under lighter acceleration (under 2000 rpm) it will shut off 4 of it's 16 valves. Drive it like a impatient race car driver and still get around 40mpg! My lifetime avg on this car is 49. This includes summers with the A/C at full blast (nice and cold) and several mountain excursions. I bought this car from the original owner in Boulder when the car had only 138K. The owner did not smoke (nor do I) and took very good care of the car with the exception of the driver's door that had been hit at some point. This minor accident only involved the driver's door so after I bought the car, I had it tuned up with new O2 sensor, and proper maintenance performed, and I found a replacement door from a junkyard. I installed it though it didn't match with the intention of painting the whole car a new color. I had cruise control installed and started my search for a good stereo with GPS. After road testing several bad head units, I ended up with a Clarion CD / DVD / USB / GPS / AM / FM / Sirius Ready / I-Pod ready unit and added a pair of rear speakers (an extra option on the VX). This system is very nice and the 7" touchscreen can tuck into the unit when not in use for extra security. When I was nearly ready to paint the car, I lost my main job so it was left undone. The body of the car is good but has the following issues: rear bumper cracked (have a replacement if interested), hood has dents and paint chips missing, roof has a few hail dents, and normal wear and tear around the body. The driver's side mirror is there but taped up and the inside remote functions do not work. Note, the rub rail (black) is shown missing from the driver's door but was saved from the original door. This car has taken me over the mountains to Grand Junction and Durango a number of times and as far south as Waco, TX. All with 50 MPG! So now, 8 years later, the car still runs as it did when I originally had it tuned up. A recent tune up, transmission oil change, and other work have been done. Engine is original and runs like a top. Oil and filter have been changed every 3000-3500 miles personally. Regular fuel additives administered to keep the fuel injectors flowing good and things clean. Here is a partial list of the things I have done to it: (besides the regular oil changes) Brakes and tires replaced at some point. (Both are decent, tires probably have just one good season left on them before they will have to be replaced. 143600 mi Engine Flush 162,398 mi (9/2009) New Battery 171,183 replaced Clutch Master and Slave 222,890 replaced inner tie rod and boot, tune up, drain and fill tranny that's pretty much it! Car has always been gingerly driven while I've had it (I try to stay at 61mph on the highway to maximize MPG) and use the cruise control whenever I can. The original seats are in very good condition with exception of the driver's left bolster which I had to repair when I first got the car and seats were covered the entire time I've owned the vehicle. Original floormats are missing, I've cut some new carpet to replace them. :) Also included with this car: Original Honda AM/FM/Cassette Stereo with documentation; box, manual, and remote control for the Clarion unit, 1992 Civic owner's manual, Spare pair of keys, original non-armrest center section, window cling of skeleton passenger, all maintenance records from even before I owned the car. Please let me know if you have any questions about this car. I can also send you larger images if you like. I can deliver within reason if my travel costs / return travel is covered. Let me know your situation and we can find a solution. On Sep-28-14 at 08:36:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a correction here. Looks like I've owned had the car just over 6 years instead of the previously mentioned 8. Also, I had not previously verified the number of previous owners which appears to actually be 3. In either case, the previous owners took good care of this car. Due to this car being in Colorado all it's life and obviously kept clean enough to prevent it, there are no signs of rust on the vehicle. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to post the answers in the auction throughout the week. Thanks again for looking.
