Vehicle Detail
Reluctantly selling my 1989 Porsche 944 S2...Money needed for a vehicle for my seventeen-year-old. I really would like to find someone that is a Porsche enthusiast, since this car has had nothing but extreme TLC throughout it's long life. Over the course of two years, I have replaced parts that have worn and eventually failed, so with that said it would be a good thing to be someone who understands that this car could indeed be considered an ongoing project, and maintaining it's mechanical integrity is important. This non-turbo 3.0. liter inline four has power to spare, runs very strong with speedy pick-up even when driving curvy mountain roads. These engines are well built with plenty of torque. All of the extras like Koni shocks, beefy disc brakes, 50/50 weight distribution, etc. which is standard on the turbo model, is included on this 944 S2. Whether you are going to the corner store or cruising down the freeway, it transfers exhilaration and excitement to the driver each and every time. It is simply a joy to drive. I have treated this car with TLC as well, but saved many dollars by doing the mechanical work myself (throttle cable, transmission, coolant reserve tank, power window switch, oil pressure relief valve, etc. This great looking, awesome running vehicle still turns heads, and is a great entry-level car for a new Porsche enthusiast. See it at this link (video) http://vimeo(dot)com/104976448 Condition:Good to fair on a scale of 1-10. Overall, an 8. Paint is good with some polished-through areas; not visible unless you get close enough to see, and with a few minor blemishes, very minor scratches (3) and dings (2) but still a great looker! Interior is good to fair with some minor sun damage (cracks/split seams) to the dash and bucket seats. Good carpet, door panels, overhead and glass. Good rubber, seals etc. Engine has been meticulously maintained although I have no documentation other than the Auto Check, Compression is good, no smoke, oil leaks or engine noise. This car is mechanically sound throughout, with higher than average but gently driven highway mileage by the original owner. Recent transmission replacement...shifts smooth and clean. A/C needs a re-charge, or conversion to newer updated a/c version. All gauges work, as well as speedometer, heater, clock, lighting, signals. Brakes are about 60%. Features: All original inside and out...Black leather, all power, tinted glass. After market sound system, 300 watt, nine speaker with sub. Powerful 208 horse inline four, fuel injected five-speed. Top speed 140 mph. 24/hwy-19/city mpg. History: I am the third real owner, as it sat in a broker's warehouse for approx 1 year and eight months. I have put approx. 7,300 miles on the car. Shipping and payment: $1000.00 deposit to PayPal within 24 hours, with the remainder due in seven days. Can pick up locally, or buyer pays and arranges shipping.
