Im selling my 1953 Pontiac Chieftain. Here are the some of the details. This all original car has only 57,777 original miles on it. Original paint too. Previous owner had almost all of the chrome on this car, which is a ton, rechromed, and thats not cheap. He told me he spent about $15,000 dollars rechroming the car. It has been garage kept by me, and its previous owners, who I have talked to the last 2 personally, which dates back more than 30 years. Its has the straight 8 268 engine in it, with a 3 on the tree manual transmission, and the cars electrical system is still on the 6volt power system. I do have a 8 volt battery that i was about to install, to spin the starter faster, and light the headlights brighter. The car has been lowered 4 inches in the rear and 3 inches in the front, to give it a nice stance. New, shorter shocks installed in the rear to maintain nice ride. New exhaust was installed, with smithy's muffler, that gives it a nice purr, that fits this cars personality. When I got it, just over 2.5 years ago, the carburetor was rebuilt, and all the plugs were changed. The rheostat on the dash lighting is also new. I installed the highly sought after original upgrade hood ornament, that has been rechromed a $500 dollar value alone. It also has a custom insert, cast in blue, to match the vehicle. This lights up at night. You will be the only person on the road with one of these. Nice new mirrors installed on the fenders. This car drives great, and we've ridden to car shows in lousiville and bowling green the last few years in it, with no problems. Has nice wide whitewall tires. It runs smooth and attracts a TON of attention. See pics for all the details.
