This is a super rare car and has been featured in Chevy Performance Magazines...."Why would anyone want to replace the perfectly good 305-horsepower LT1 engine in a brand new 1996 Camaro SS with the Corvette's rare LT4?? The original owner from Huntsville, Alabama thought the new LT4 would make an excellent engine to power his new Camaro. The 1996 Camaro SS, serial No. 53, was already rare enough as the limited-production ram air F-body convertible, but giving it the Corvette Grand Sport engine would furnish his SS with that one-of-a-kind status that every car enthusiast desires. So, why not just retune the LT1? Because the Corvette Grand Sport engine had been revised from the ground up to further improve reliability and enhance the driving experience, so why not? The car came from the factory, straight to the Dealer who performed the swap. No doubt he did this to do what most of us want, a one-of-a-kind vehicle that NO ONE else would own. This is an excellent car that has been meticulously maintained and looks and drives as if it just rolled off the factory line. The only thing that has been replaced has been the exhaust; however, I have the original exhaust that comes with the car as well. The tires are perfect too!! This car has a CLEAN Carfax. The car is has a beautiful deep Black exterior with White accents and a Charcoal Leather Interior. If you are a Camaro fan, this car is awesome and would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. You will not be disappointed in anyway with this car. This car has no flaws, it only needs a new owner who will really appreciate it for it's historical significance. It's funny because after this car was written about so extensively, GM apparently listened because if you ordered a 1997 Camaro, you could order one equipped with a LT4!!!!
