Our Current ListingsAbout CABS Classics 1967 Plymouth VIP (Rare) What You Need to Know I'm proud to offer for your consideration this rarely seen 1967 Plymouth VIP with the sought after original 383 Commando engine still running strong. I personally own this car, it's not a clients. The previous owner stated that the mileage is original, reading just 45506. We have an inspection form from 1989 showing 44274 miles. The story is this car was parked shortly after that time for over 20 years and has ran up those additional 1100 miles here in the last few years after it was brought back to life. You see signs of a vehicle that has been parked a long time, like a crack in the dash pad and some spider webs in the seats. However, if you look at the places that you typically see a lot of wear with driving a car, such as the gas and brake pedals, this car looks to be a car that hasn't been driven to many miles. The car has some cosmetic issues. It could use a new trunk mat and some touch up paint on a few chips around the body. One of the passenger side rear taillights is missing it's trim. I've already mentioned the seats. Also inside there's a hole in the headliner that is mostly hidden by the passenger side visor. (The previous owner kept it hidden and didn't mention it, but that's not how I like to do business) I've found nothing rusted out, just the typical surface rust you often see, like under the trunk mat. Floor pans and deck are solid! Mechanically the car is very sound to my knowledge. The car starts and shifts well. All gauges work. The clock doesn't, and the original AM radio turns on but I wasn't able to get anything tuned in. There is a noise in the drivers side front wheel area. Sounds like a rock in the hubcap but didn't see anything. Possibly a wheel bearing. It drives straight and stops well. Just 10,830 of these cars were sold in 1967, slightly more than the less desirable at the time 2 doors. This one was built to order. (Verified by decoding the fender tag) The standard motor was the 318, but this Very Important Plymouth has the more desirable original 383 Commando engine. The VIP line featured all the equipment a Fury III had plus faux walnut interior trim, 15 inch wheels, full courtesy lighting, flow-through ventilation, and more. This classic also has air conditioning which is really rare, since this option was a very pricey $383 in 1967. The air however doesn't blow cold. It will most likely need to be converted to get it blowing cold again as it's still hooked up to original freon. The compressor does kick on and blows air so I'm confident it will work well after the conversion. Looking under the hood you can see signs of some of the new parts that have been replaced fairly recently. There may be more, but these things I know of for sure. New Alternator (4/2013)New Dist cap, condenser, rotor, and contacts (4/2013)New coil (4/2013)New battery (Period correct yellow cap Mopar - 6/2014)New battery terminals (6/2014)New windshield washer reservoir (6/2014)New spark plugs and wires (4/2013)New PCV valve (6/2014)The average value of a 1967 VIP is $12,700 using Hagerty.com as the source. Even a lesser condition model can have a retail value near 9k. I'm starting bidding on this car at less than half that and letting the high bidder take it. This Plymouth VIP is hard to find and would make a great driver as is or an excellent candidate for restoration. Please remember your buying a car nearly 50 years old that has never been restored. Original unmolested Mopar vehicals are very desirable and that's exactly what you'll get with this classic VIP Plymouth. If you have any problems viewing the video below you can watch it here - http://vimeo.com/102899567 Please use eBay to ask general questions about the car so I can share the answer with other bidders. Feel free to call to discuss an offer. If an offer is accepted I have the right to end the auction at any time. I'm NOT interested in any trades. Bid often and Good Luck!!
