Up for auction is this beautiful 1953 MG TD in silver and red. 1953 was the only year MG offered the TD in silver and the only year they offered the wire wheel option. We are selling this beautiful car for a customer. We have serviced this car for the past 10 years and have been in the British automotive service and restoration business since 1986. This car is the most "heavily optioned" TD we have had come through our shop. This car is equipped with a front anti roll or "sway" bar, heat, arm rest, luggage rack, Alfin aluminum brake drums, Rear tube style shock absorbers, Chrome duel horn caps, Chrome sparkplug separators and a full tool kit including the factory plug in flash light. Prior to the car coming into the shop to be sold, it had not been used for about two years. We have been maintaining this car for the past 10 years. We did a complete fluid service, changing every fluid including the oil which was changed with Valvoline VR1 hi zink which we have been using for many years. A full tune up was preformed including a timing and valve lash check. We also did a complete brake system check and service, replacing all wheel cylinders, brake shoes and flex hoses. A complete front to rear bumper inspection was completed and no other repairs were found to be needed. The car is as clean underneath as it is on top and drives beautifully. The car needs nothing except it's next loving owner! We just finished a full detail of the car inside and out and are now offering it for auction. On Aug-09-14 at 19:12:52 PDT, seller added the following information: So, just a quick note with less than 24hrs left in this auction. We gave this great little car one final check over this morning. I wasn't happy with the battery or the speed of the direction signals. A brand new battery was installed and the correct flasher relay was installed picking up the speed of the direction signals as they should be. All other controls and light's were double checked including the illuminated 3 speed heater fan switch and the windscreen wiper motor. Amazing ,............Everything worked flawlessly !
