Vehicle Detail

History: This vehicle was purchased new on June 26, 1969 by Violet "Vide" Bartlett, widow of Senator Edward Lewis "Bob" Bartlett who served as Alaska's first senator (Died in office on December 11, 1968). Mrs. Bartlett bought the car from Capitol Cadillac-Oldsmobile Co. in Washington, D.C. She then moved back to Fairbanks, Alaska where she passed away in 1977. My cousin, who lived in Fairbanks and was a close friend of the Bartlett's, purchased the vehicle from the estate in June, 1977. My cousin moved to Pennsylvania in the late 1980s and I purchased the car from him in August, 1992. At that point, the car had 62,500 miles on it. I have only ever used it as a collector / show car. I have put less than 28,000 miles on it and have always carefully stored it in my garage. All documentation regarding the car's history will be included. Also included is the original owner's manual and shop manual, as well as a parade cover in excellent condition. In June, 2014 the car passed NYS inspection. Also in June of this year, I had a variety of maintenance work done including: a front end alignment, brakes checked and 1 brake line replaced, brake fluid flushed and replaced; etc. The fuel gauge does not work at present which I believe may be a ground issue. I painted it Flamingo Red approximately 4 years ago and there are a few runs here and there. The interior is white with red carpets. The rear seat is the original white leather and is in great shape. The front seat was replaced with vinyl 8 years ago and looks superb. The air conditioning works as does the power antenna. It has a new battery and excellent tires. The rear driver's side window does not work properly -- the motor works but the window does not go down as it should. The motorized white convertible top raises and lowers just fine. The AM radio works. The power seats work. The floor mats are original to the car and are in great shape. Overall, a fun car to drive and be seen in.Please contact me with any questions. On Aug-08-14 at 13:27:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Here was my answer to a question concerning rust, etc. on the car:There is a bit of surface rust underneath the car but nothing is rusted or corroded through. After the car came east from Alaska, it was only ever driven in the summer (so, no exposure to road salt). Before the car was painted 8 years ago, I did cut a rusted piece out of the rear part of both front fenders and replaced it with sheet metal. I then primed the sheet metal and painted the entire car. These repairs look quite good. The front seat is vinyl while the rear seat is the original white leather seat which is still in good shape because no one ever sat back there too often. The car is in New York and I have every reason to believe that it could be driver to Idaho without a problem although you would definitely spend a lot on gas!
