This unique collectors-item is a great investment opportunity which will, apart from the benefit of owning this machine and having fun with it, always keep, or even increase in value, as such bikes can hardly ever be found on the market (and also not many of those are in existence!). This most reliable machine is running & riding Very well (and has long legs!), the odometer reads 31462 KM / 15950 mile and the bike has recently been completely serviced, so is ready for instant use. It has started its life 37 years ago as a standard R80/7 model, but as the sidecar was not factored into the design of this model, it has been converted for sidecar-use in a most professional manner back in 1984, where these upgraded have been carried out; -Special Earles-type front fork with heavy duty shock absorbers.-Heavy duty hydraulic steering damper.-15" wire wheels with wide radial tires for better grip and handling-High end front-brake system with stainless steel brake-lines, floating-type BMW double discs and Brembo calipers.-Special subframe for connecting the sidecar to the bike (bolted on, no welding has been done to the original frame of the bike.-Several special braces have been bolted on in order to stiffen the frame even more.-1000 cc cylinders have been fitted to privide more torque and power (the bottom-ends of the R80-R100 models are similar to each other, the original R80 cylinders etc. are still with the bike and will be shipped along).-Calculated gear-ratio on the final drive. All these upgrades have turned this BMW into an ultimate and most reliable classic sidecar-combination which will probably stay around forever. The auxiliary square German made „Hella” lights are for driving (fitted on the sidecar) and for fog (fitted below the headlight) and futhermore the bike is equipped with an original BMW electronic ignition system. The sidecar has a big lockable trunk and the stainless steel luggage carrier on the rear of the sidecar can be folded back. The sidecar is in a Very good, tidy and absolute rock-solid condition and can easily hold two kids or small persons. The inside smells very clean and the tire on the sidecar has only done a few miles (driving home from the place where it has been fitted). It has many nice stainless steel details The complete top with windows can easily be taken off by only taking out the two bolts of the hinges, but can also been driven with the soft-top off (=very comfortable for the passengers!) It has a German made 'Grundig' stereo fitted with period 'Blaupunkt' loudspeakers and the watch in the dashboard is original BMW (VDO) -On this listing I’m offering a special custom-made (fully sealed) m'cycle crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense (when you provide me your zip-code I can let you know to where I can get it). ..In case the bike needs to be shipped to another destination than the US, please ask whether I can offer you such a deal as well before placing a bid (mostly this is not a problem but it’s better to be sure).
