Vehicle Detail
This auction is for an original black 1971 Porsche 914 survivor, mechanically as new, completely rebuilt with a documented 140,320 miles. The engine (including new pistons and cylinders), transmission (gears, synchros etc.), brakes, pedal bushings, shocks etc. were completely rebuilt and or replaced in 1994 for about $8700! I have records of this and most if not all of the work ever done to this 914. This Porsche has only been driven about 8000 miles since the rebuild nearly 20 years ago. This car runs and drives like a new 1971, 914! I have an online album (150 pictures) and a youtube video I can send, contact me through Ebay messaging I'll figure out a way to get those to you. I spoke to the original owner (Siegfried) one year ago, he was 82 at the time and he was the owner from 1970-1998. Siegfried stated that the car was never driven in the winter (in Colorado between November and April), always garage kept, even at work. He stated that he ordered it with the chrome wheels and hubcaps, and had the dealer put a Porsche hood badge on it the day he went to bring it home. He is from Kitzbuhel Austria and put the Kitzbuhel emblem on the back when the car was new. The original owner gave this car to his son and bought a new Boxter in 1998. This car passed through the hands of one or two other owners and I acquired it in December 2011. I have extensive records since new, factory original owner’s manual and warranty book, spare tire, jack and took kit. This 914 is all original with one very good repaint (no overspray etc.) sometime in the past and it still looks great with some patina and minor blemishes and absolutely no rust whatsoever. I’m certain this car has never been in an accident. I paid a mechanic for 40 hours of labor to tune the engine, adjust valves, rebuilt the brakes etc. because the car sat for about a year before I bought it and it just needed a little tlc to make it run like a Swiss watch. This car is completely original with factory exhaust, fuel injection, interior, exterior etc. All trunk carpets, upholstery, top, wheels, sail vinyl, bumpers, body trim etc is original as delivered from the factory. I paid a professional body and paint guy to straighten and repaint the side rockers, the front and rear valances. I also had the driver’s side door and the pop up headlight covers repainted because they had too many rock chips and or door dings. The passenger side door has two dings, I have a pro paintless dent repair guy coming next week to work on that, those dings will either be gone or noticeably better by the time the auction ends. I have the Certificate of authenticity from Porsche, this car is number matching and came with the following options: tinted glass, heated rear window, fog lights, black paint and USA equipment (appearance group). I have added new tires (Dunlop), 20 year old Michelins were still on the car showing little wear. This car also has a new Optima battery and Hella battery disconnect switch, brake hoses and brake parts, a new tinted windshield and factory windshield trim, nos throttle position switch, the window winder mechanisms were rebuilt, as were the shift bushings, nos blaupunkt speakers were added as well as all new cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, valve cover gaskets, fuel lines, vacuum lines etc. This car was detailed in both trunks, the inner rockers, the engine, in the wheel wells, the interior and exterior etc. Every bit of the interior, carpet, door panels, seat belts, dash, headliner, seats etc is original and shows well with only minor wear and there is one small crack in the dash which can only be seen from the passenger seat area. Right now everything works except the fuel gauge I will replace the fuel sending unit before the auction ends, if it still doesn’t work I’m happy to take $200 off of the final sales price of the car. I plan to keep the vintage Oregon license plate that is currently on the car and in the pictures. If the new owner is in Oregon and or has a need or desire for it I’m sure we can work that out. I’m the legal owner of this car. I have the clean and clear title in my name and I’m a private party not a dealer. This car is in Portland, OR 97217 I require a non-refundable $1000 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction and or payment in full within 2 business days. Payment by: cash in person, Paypal or bank wire transfer only. I’m willing to store this car for up to two weeks while the buyer arranges transport. If I need to store it for longer than two weeks I would like $50 for each additional week for storage fees, communication is the key.
