1965 Mustang Shelby Coupe Tribute. How Ford should have built a coupe. Very fun car that is a blast to drive and gets a ton of compliments. Not your average everyday mustang coupe. Slightly modified but still retains its classic good looks. Modifications were done for comfort and driveability. I will start with the drivetrain, It has a rebuilt 302 bored .030 over with a Comp Cam 268H cam and lifter set, Edelbrock Air Gap Intake, Electronic ignition, Holley 4 barrel carb, Ceramic Coated headers, Aluminum radiator, new alternator,water pump, and some cool Shelby valve covers. Is running 9.0:1 compression so it can run on regular unleaded. Engine sounds great and has plenty of power for a fun daily driver. 2.5" dual exhaust. Transmission is a newer T5 5 speed with a new clutch, flywheel and pressure plate.. That extra gear is great for a cruiser. Install was done right and shifter fits in the transmission tunnel just like the factory 4 speed did. New fuel tank and lines installed. The car has a new complete wiring harness and switches from American Autowire installed so there is no need to worry about electrical problems. The car has been converted to disc brakes using the granada spindles with new master cylinder, rotors, brakes, calipers and all new brake lines. The front end has been completely rebuilt with new shocks on all 4 corners. Has new staggered 17" Torque Thrust M wheels and new tires. I added the Shelby Cobra center caps and gives the car a great stance and look. Next we have the interior which is all new. The interior is a TMI Pony Sport R Interior. It has new seat foams with extra side and leg bolstering to give you a more modern and sporty feel. The seats hug you into the car and ar every comfortable. They have a nice soft feel with suede inserts and contrasting red stitching. The matching console also has suede inserts and red stitching to keep the red and black theme of the car going. Best part of the console is that it has 2 cup holders, who knew that this was such an important feature that most cannot live without now. I also installed the TMI 1 piece headliner which increases headroom and gives it a smooth and modern look as well. It is a rigid 1 piece fiberglass headliner wrapped in matching black vinyl. The sail panels and front pillars are covered to match also. There are new Pony door panels with new stainless trim, New Ford tooling dash pad, the sound deadner was replaced and new mass black carpet installed, new Cobra floor mats, new heater ducts, plenum, heater core, steering wheel, kick panels, matching vinyl covered package tray, glove box, and a new aftermarket gauge set which includes a tach and matching glove box door. This interior really sets this car apart from most of the mustangs you see on a daily basis. The comfort and feel is vastly improved over the nearly 50 year old interior. Last is the paint and body. This work was done professionally and has a beautiful basecoat/clearcoat black paint job. The stripes on the hood,roof, and rear decklid are painted on and buried under the clear. The side GT 350 stripes are quality decals. The Shelby side scoops, hood scoop, and rear decklid with side extentions have all been molded into the body for a neat seamless look. There were several hours put into the body work to align all the panels and assure a quality look. The body is very straight and had no rust issues. I added the blacked out sequential LED Shelby tailights, a Black Shelby gas cap, new mirrors, bumpers, chrome, emblems, GT grille, door handles, locks, weatherstrip/felt, windshield, lights and lenses. The car gets compliments from everyone even the Mustang haters. It a unique looking Mustang that retains its classic looks but doesn't look like every other mustang you see on the streets and at shows. Contact for more info and pics.
