You are bidding on my 2-owner, 1997 Mercury Cougar with an original 54,900 miles! I bought this car in January of 2011 to add to my collection. It was at a dealer where it had been traded in for a new car. The dealer gave me all of the original owner's service records, two keys and fobs and the original window sticker! This car has been extremely well maintained (original owner replaced the oil and transmission fluids regularly, regardless of mileage!) and always garaged until this year when I needed the garage for another vehicle. Since I bought it in 2011, I've only put 1600 miles on it. The tires were new when I bought it, although that record appears to be missing. My guess is, the dealer did it when they received it on trade. I really don't want to see it sit outside, and I need the cash, so my loss is your gain! The interior of this car is PERFECT. All of the buttons, knobs, and "interactive" surfaces have NO wear. All of the original factory printing is perfect, the armrests are perfect, the steering wheel leather is perfect, the seats are perfect. NEVER SMOKED IN. I've seen a number of these cars over the years and this is definitely one of the nicest MN12 Cougars left in existence (not to mention the last of the big 2-door V8's from FoMoCo). I'm aware of the 3 small dings on the body (2 of which are pictured). The rear bumper chrome has white spots where it looks like moisture got between the clear plastic outer layer and the chrome itself (pictured). Obviously there is no rust. The car has never been wrecked or repainted, that I could find. It has never been driven in the snow. Obviously, it runs and drives perfectly, with no signs of any work required. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere! I've made several trips around town in it this year - it does not sit unstarted for extended periods.
