Vehicle Detail
Please allow ample time for our high resolution photos and video to load. Thank you. 1957 Nash Metropolitan Convertible Street Machines is proud to present this classic little Nash Metropolitan convertible custom. This car is a 562 model that displays an older professional conversion to a convertible. It is titled here in Texas as a convertible. This is a good running little car, displaying a very solid rust free body and chassis. The interior upholstery is in good condition. The dash displays the original speedometer gauge cluster (working) and radio (not working) The wheels are the original steel wheels with Nash hubcaps. This is a turquoise and white car, displaying an older repaint in a metallic turquoise & white. The paint has several chips and imperfections on an otherwise exceptionally straight and solid car. This is a dry climate car and it shows. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Rob direct at 214-364-5671 with any questions. VIDEO BELOW / PRESS PLAY VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY The Nash Metropolitan was the first sub compact car, advertising campaigns centered on women and the urban commuter. This example displays an exceptionally solid body. The continental spare kit was a standard feature on the Metropolitan. The convertible top is intact and fastens into place with little effort. The interior is Spartan at best, displays good vinyl upholstery and the original dash and gauge cluster. A new ignition switch has been installed recently. The correct 1500 c.c. engine runs good. The 3-speed column-shifted transmission goes through all of the gears. Be sure and play our video. The engine compartment displays very well. The original heater assembly box is not on the car anymore with a delete plate in its place. The original sheet metal is in great shape throughout the firewall, inner fenders and core support. The original identification plates are in place on the firewall. You can see the original turquoise color under the hood. The engine itself runs great and is paired with the 3-speed standard transmission. The clutch grips good. The brakes are only fair and will need attention. They are a little soft. The car runs and drives but is certainly considered a project car. It will start and drive on a transport or on short trips. The undercarriage displays the original chassis and flooring throughout. This is a dry climate Metropolitan and it shows. The shocks have recently been replaced. The door undersides display solid original metal throughout. The 1957 model Metropolitans did not have a trunk. The exterior displays original brightwork throughout. The two-tone turquoise and white paint was re-sprayed years ago in this metallic turquoise & white finish. Enjoy our remaining photos and again feel free to contact Rob at 214-364-5671 with any questions.
