Up for auction at NO RESERVE is a beautiful 1962 Rambler American Deluxe Convertible!!!This is a great running and driving little Rambler. The engine was overhauled in 2007 and has been driven over 10,000 miles since the rebuild. I have over $6000 in receipts from the previous owner. The car is currently having a little trouble engaging in reverse but goes excellently in drive and shifts smoothly. It is very fun to drive and doesn't overheat even in the warm California temperatures and in traffic. Recently drove the car from the beach approximately 100 miles in rush hour traffic with no issues. It gets a lot of attention going down the road. I would drive this car a reasonable distance with no hesitation (just plan on it taking a long time). It was repainted at some point and it is not show quality but I would say it is presentable. There are some dings in the trim but the bumpers are very nice. It seems to me to be completely rust free and I can't find any sign of previous rust damage. The top goes up and down smoothly under its own power. The interior is fair, the front seats have some small issues. The carpet is in good shape and the dash has some cracks. All of the electrical works with the exception of the radio. It is not original, but there is an original in the trunk. The trunk is nice and rust free and the motor for the top is newer. I do have a boot for the top that will be included in the sale and a few manuals, receipts, and miscellaneous spare parts.Tags are current on the car and it is ready to go. It still has the original BLACK CALIFORNIA LICENSE PLATES!!!This is a very cool car and will make someone very happy.This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION and the car is being sold as is!!!I am relisting this car for a friend due to a non paying buyer. On Jul-03-14 at 08:48:04 PDT, seller added the following information: One of the previous owners of the Rambler informed me that when he had the engine rebuilt it was upgraded to a 2 barrel carburator to help it with the freeway speeds. The car runs fantastically for its age and is a joy to drive. On Jul-05-14 at 08:51:54 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting a lot of requests to add more pictures. I tried to cover the items people have asked for and have now maximized the number of pictures I can place without paying more fees. To answer a few questions, I do have the missing arm rest! The little circle that is missing from the hood ornament, I have that as well in the form of another hood ornament. I beleive the transmission is a Borg Warner T35 and have been told it is inexpensive and easy to work on. Based on the receipts that I have the engine was completely overhauled in 2007 at a cost of $5972.48 but the transmission was not.Again this is an as-is sale, I am trying to answer questions to the best of my knowledge which is limited.Please ask as many questions as you would like before bidding, this is a NO RESERVE auction and the car is going to sell for whatever the high bid is.
