Vehicle Detail
NO ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS >This is a real AMX with manual transmission and original 360 motor . There were only 2054 AMX cars built in 1971 so not too many around . Anytime there is an "X" in the name plate of a car it usually means experimental as in Acura NSX , Grand National GNX , and the Buick GSX so it is in a good position for retaining collectable status . It has the "N" code standard 360 2V 245hp with 300 ft/lbs torque @ 2600 rpm with 8.4:1 compression . Engine was upgraded to the 4V version early in it's life and bumped up to 285hp and full length exhaust was added with the addition of headers . The rest of the motor is stock and original . Also the car was born with a manual 3 speed transmission ( standard drive line in the original AMX is a 360 2V 3speed ) and earl on as well a factory 4 speed was added with factory Hurst shifter . It runs very well and recently has fuel lines and carburetor rebuilt . It does have a "dead spot " in the started or not shimmed correctly . It has the factory gauges and factory tic-toc-tach that works as well as does the speedometer/odometer . All lights including dash illumination work , turn signals and wipers work . The horn does not work . It still has the original radio but not working . It has the factory front chin and rear spoiler , all original "AMX" identification in/out of car , magnum 500's , original cowl hood , and exclusive front grill to the AMX . Engine compartment is exceptionally clean and original with no rust around the shock towers/radiator support or frame rails . The "GO" package which consists of the "T" hood stripe with correct fade away center and tachometer/gauges/clock is present and looks to be original .Color is what i believe to be Mustard Yellow . Underside is very clean original with original floors/trunk very solid and nice . Original seam seals on both doors and not rotted and very clean door jambs and original "pinch ' welds in place . Interior is very clean and front/rear seats have been re done . Car has a small dent on passenger side rear quarter panel and no attempts to repair have been made . Car is a unusual car and very rare to see one today . The vinyl roof inserts are original and showing age , will need to be replaced if you want them perfect but all moldings are in tact .It is going to make someone happy who has been looking for a real AMX with 4 speed and not rotted out .I can be reached @ 516-467-6890 . I will not reveal the reserve but is below 10k .
