Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs is this beautiful 1960 Nash Metropolitan CONVERTIBLE finished in Mardi Gras Red over Frost White. Powered by an Austin 4 Cylinder 1500cc motor and factory 3 speed transmission. January 1959 brought the beginning of Metropolitan series IV production. An external decklid and vent windows were the major improvements. The Metropolitan sold over 22,000 units in 1959, second only to Volkswagen in cars imported to the USA. This stunning convertible features the original exterior colors and is in very nice shape. The original hubcaps, emblems, bumpers and glass are all in nice shape with no major defects. Notice the "Petty Flying Lady" Hood Ornament. These are rarely seen and never in this condition. The interior is finished in White houndstooth and White vinyl. The top is also White and is in overall good shape but does have a tear in a side window. The dash is very nice, all the gauges seem to work as well as the unique turn signal switch and pull knob starter. This is a stunning car in any crowd. The last few years the "Micro Car" collector market has been heating up. These are sure to become investment vehicles as the economy ramps back up. This metropolitan was built in November of 1959 and wears it's age beautifully. It has been repainted some years ago but still looks wonderful despite a few small touchups. Definetly a crowd favorite at any show. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at anytime. You may call Jon at 810.252.7308 or email thru ebay messages. You and/or your inspector are welcome at anytime but please do so before the end of the auction. You are welcome to pick up your new classic or you may have it shipped. Please call if you would like help finding a shipper. We look forward to talking to you. This is a nice running, driving and looking car. Perfect for any Micro Car enthusiast or collector. This is not a "perfect" car, the radio is not operational and the top has a small rip. You will be able to enjoy it from day one. Good luck and happy motoring!!
