1988 Jaguar XJS 2Dr Coupe SAJNA5849JC139746 Clear CARFAX ReportTwo-Owner Automobile The Jaguar XJS was introduced in 1976 as a Saloon Coupe, inspired by the original Jaguar XKE. With the V-12 it is a Luxury Grand Tourer, capable to cruise at 80 mph all day. At the time only Ferrari and Lamborghini were making V-12s and the Jaguar compared very favorably with both. It was able to accelerate to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143 mph.There is only one way to describe a Jaguar V-12 and that is that it's turbine-like. Everything from the sound when you turn the key over to start position to its silent and smooth idle to the highway power delivery, it's simply smooth and linear, very few engines like it. BMW and Mercedes both offer V-12s but neither can beat the Jaguar in this respect. This particular car was given a professional refinishing in the original car British Racing Green just a few years ago. This is a show quality paint job that could be shown in Concourse Events. The front seats were refurbished in the same color leather hides of the original seats. The interior headliner and the engine insulation liner were redone at the same time. The engine has been recently been serviced and has four new Pirelli 600 tires. This is not your normal everyday Jaguar XJS. This car belongs to my friend, who is the second owner; she works with horses and needs to replace the vehicle she uses to carry her supplies. I have offered to help sell her pampered baby since she is without an eBay account. She drives it sparingly and has wanted to keep it but is planning on moving to North Carolina, so, regrettably, she has come to the decision to finally part with the car after many happy years. She has most of the bills for the restoration. When the car was refinished the underside was bead blasted and undercoated. There is a door ding on passenger door, and a slighter one in the driver's door. Both can be taken out by paintless dent repair. There is a bubble the size of a silver dollar on the lower panel on the right side in front of rear wheel. Otherwise the paint is near flawless. The laminate on the wood on the console has begun to crack, also a small spot on the glove box, but it's not as noticeable. I've posted pictures of these. Out of all the "Personal Luxury Coupes," the XJS checks all of the boxes that make it what it is. The Jaguar XJS has a timeless look to it, very sophisticated, a car that doesn't "blend in" the parking lot with all of the "cookie cutter" looks of the current luxury coupes on the market today.
