Vehicle Detail
A rare motorcycle in superb condition, the result of a recently completed 6 month café style resto-mod project. This is the Hondamatic clutchless 2-speed transmission. All useless metal bits were removed to improve appearance and reduce weight. Original seat and electrics retained to maintain comfort, safety and 'street-ability'. It is quick, agile and a lot of fun to ride. This is a great bike for a lady or smaller rider. Here are the details: Frame and sheet metal: Frame sanded, primed and refinished in gloss black automotive lacquer. Tank and side covers finished in DuPont satin metallic orange and clear coated. Fenders modestly bobbed and the original chrome finish given a swirl brush treatment and clear coated. Engine/Drive train: Motor completely checked before restoration. Compression at factory specs (~180 psi) both cylinders. No leaks and burns no oil. Valves set, timing chain adjusted. New spark plugs. Carbs completely cleaned, serviced and balanced. Stock air box and filter. Tank is rust-free, new fuel line and filter. Engine, transmission finished in hi-temp silver, valve cover in hi-temp gloss black. Fresh oil and filter. New 2-into-1 exhaust system - not loud but sounds great! Chain cleaned and waxed. Sprockets in good condition. Suspension/Brakes: Front fork (air ride) disassembled, cleaned and oil (ATF) renewed. Seals all good. Front brake MC overhauled with new reservoir and gaskets. Caliper piston seals replaced and new brake pads installed. Fresh DOT3. Rear drum and shoes good. Bike stops very well. Tires have less than 100 miles. Lights/Electrics: Big, ugly stock turn signals replaced with modern smaller bullet marker lights; very bright and look sharp! New art deco style tail/brake light - very cool. New battery. Electric start or kick. All electrics work perfectly. Controls/Instruments: New café style handlebar with bar-end mirrors. Speedometer/odometer/trip works normally. Gear indicator displays N-1-2. Original seat is free of rips or tears and is very comfortable! The lever that would normally be the clutch is a parking brake. Passenger foot pegs have been removed but go with the bike. Original owners manual and tool kit are included.
