For sale is this well documented California Highway Patrol 1982 Dodge Ramcharger. Not only are the telltale signs of CHP use present (unit number on door jamb, dual black painted brass 2 wire spotlights, whip antenna, roof antennas, dash switches, rear wiper and pushbar holes on the front bumper) but the documentation includes the original warranty book showing CHP as owner, the odometer statement when sold by CHP and the sales reciept from CHP to the buyer when sold. The current 5 digit odometer reading is 55,791 which has turned over. CHP had very few 4X4s when new and to find a survivor is very rare. This Ramcharger needs restoration as you can see in the pictures.The body has some dents and rust on the wheelwells and lower fenders.. The driver's seat needs recovering as does the headliner, the rest of the seats are OK and the dash is uncracked. Mounted on the transmission hump is a CB radio and scanner, the scanner is the same as used by CHP although it is unknown if it is still there from it's in service days. The inside also has a roll bar, reportedly installed by CHP. The Ramcharger starts right up and sounds great, the transmission shifts as it should, the brakes feel low but they do stop fine. The original carb. was replaced with an Edelbrock a few years ago according to the previous owner. This is a rare chance to restore an original CHP SUV. I bought the Ramcharger from the second civilian owner to restore but another project has taken priority. The truck is sold AS IS with NO warranty. The BUYER is responsible for a smog certificate if required. The Ramcharger has a clear California title and was registered in Nevada. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangements. the buyer agrees to pay a $500.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction end. The balance is due within 7 days of auction end in the form of a cashier's check, bank wire transfer or cash if in person.
