1998 BMW 540i E39 model. Car runs strong, but does have some issues. Issue is car is in "Trans Failsafe Prog", which causes car to take off in 3rd gear. I haven't figured out what is causing it. It could be a simple fix, have seen some info about it on the internet. Prior owner said it started when they had battery and alternator issues. The car does have a new battery and alternator. Tires have good amount of tread but do have some light dry rotting from sitting. Paint is ok, some clear coat peeling on the hood, and one dent on drivers door has been pushed back out. Interior is ok as well, no rips or tears in the leather, some stains in carpet, headliner is good. Car does smell like smoke. All windows, locks, door handles and lights seem to work. Has a factory 6 CD changer in the trunk as well as factory tool kit, original dealer window sticker and manuals. Car is located very close to I-44 about 15miles east of Springfield, MO. Buyer must make contact within 2 days of aution end to make arrangements for payment and pickup of vehicle. Car must be picked up within 2 weeks of Auction end (flexible within reason).
