Vehicle Detail
Thank you for taking the time to check our car out! Up for sale is a 1981 240D Mercedes Benz Deisel, which could easily be converted to biodiesel! We have owned this car for well over a decade and it's gotten us all over the country and to and from work in the time she's been in the family! She been retired, parked and covered for a number of years... we intended to spend a lot of time restoring this gem as a family project (fully restored these classics go for upwards of $10K!!), but we've been putting all our energy into a home improvement project, so our lack of time is your gain! The car is in good running condition and, as she's only available for local pick-up, you are welcome to take her to a shop to determine what, if any, type of tune-up she may need. There are some cosmetic upgrades needed (dashboard is cracked and there are a few tears along the seams in the upholstery), so check out the many many pictures we've uploaded for details. As mentioned above, the car can easily be converted to biodeisel, making it a fab day to day car or restored to her former glory for the most discerning collector. And let's not forget back then they knew how to make cars... this girl is ALL metal, making her far safer than many of the modern cars on the road today. On Jun-01-14 at 13:37:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Please Note!!! Picture number 4 is inaccurate! We did not realize this until after the auction had started and, once that happens, eBay wouldn't allow us to switch pictures. In picture 4, there is a pioneer stereo. It was inoperable and removed at the shop when we had the car tuned up last month. Please see photo number 22 for an updated version. Sorry for any confusion. Again... there is NO stereo in the car at the moment.
