One owner 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI 6-speed MANUAL transmission Diesel Wagon with 228,000 miles. Please read this entire ad before bidding or asking any questions ... there is a lot of information here! This car is driven daily and the odometer mileage at completion of the sale may be greater than 228,000 miles. Drivetrain: Stock 2.0 liter 140 hp 4-cylinder TDI diesel engine. Fun 6 speed manual transmission! Brakes, Tires and Safety Features: Four Michelin 205/55-R16 Primacy MVX All-season tires with less than 15,000 miles on OEM Aluminum Alloy wheels. Full-size factory steel spare wheel with good spare tire and all original tire change equipment. Four wheel anti-lock ABS brakes with Electronic Stability Control system. Front & side driver & passenger airbags and side curtain airbags. Convenience Features: Climatic air conditioning A/C, cruise control, full-sized power panoramic sunroof, power windows and locks, power heated side mirrors, heated seats, in-dash 6 disc CD changer w/MP3 format aux input and satellite radio ready, multifunction trip computer and compass, anti-theft alarm and immobilizer, two remote keys for keyless locking and one valet key, factory built-in 110v inverter outlet. Exterior: Original Laser Blue metallic paint. Some parking lot dings and scratches, but no apparent body rust anywhere. Never any accidents. Small vertical scratch to rear plastic bumper. Windshield has two small (less than dime sized) chips on the far passenger side that were professionally sealed and have been there for years. Interior: Original grey V-Tex Leatherette upholstery is in very good shape, except that the driver's seat has noticeable wear on the left side of the seat cushion (see picture). The rear seats fold and flatten to create enormous cargo space. The vehicle has never been smoked in and never transported animals. The driver is a non-smoker. All lights, indicators, vents, windows, levers, outlets and latches work properly. Maintenance History: All scheduled maintenance has been performed. All service has been done by the same VW dealership since purchase. (Except that tires have been purchased elsewhere.) All service records have been maintained and logged and will be conveyed to winning bidder at completion of sale. Fuel Economy: Every fillup has been documented since purchase and the average calculated fuel economy (miles divided by gallons ... not the multi-function display) has been 45 mpg. The last three tankfuls have been 45, 46, 45 and 46 mpg. The driver is a gentle driver, but not a hypermiler. Ownership and Location: One owner (business owned) and single-driver operator since new. Clear, clean Massachusetts title. Orange, MA is about 75 miles west of Boston (BOS) or Manchester, NH (MHT), 60 miles north of Hartford, CT (BDL), and 40 miles northwest of Worcester (ORH). Known Issues: 1) In the last 2 months, the check engine light (CEL) has lit five times and gone out on its own. There has been no noticeable performance degradation. The dealer diagnosed a P0401 code (EGR flow insufficient) and quoted $2590 to replace the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and egr filter. Online research (google "TDI EGR system fault code p0401") indicates some debate about the DPF and EGR system and the repair options. The check engine light is currently out (over 1000 miles) and the ecu is OBD-II code-ready for inspection (see picture - The ScanGauge II shown in the picture is NOT included in this auction and will be removed and retained by the seller prior to the completion of the sale.) However, the CEL may re-appear at any time, as no changes or repairs have been made since the dealer diagnosis. The winning bidder will be responsible for any required resolution of this CEL issue. 2) In the last month, the interior has developed a leak that has left some water on the driver's side floors. The dealer diagnosed the sunroof frame as cracked and quoted $1850 to replace the sunroof frame. When asked if the mechanic could indicate where the frame was cracked, he said that he didn't actually find the crack, just assumed that it was, since the drain lines were clear and flowing, but water was still getting to the floors. Again, online research (google "vw sportwagen sunroof leak") indicates that there may be other factors contributing to the leak that may require less expensive repair. Floors are currently dry.
