Selling my 1988 Toyota MR2 Factory Supercharged, I have owned this wonderful car for 4 years now and put 10,000 trouble-free miles on it in that time. I find I rarely drive it now and would prefer to let go of my toy to another Collector/Enthusiast. VERY GOOD condition for a 26yr old car, but of course has minor wear & tear, I will detail everything below. Great Colelctible to enjoy and drive while the values rise, I have seen only 3 other MR2 S/C in 5years in this condition and they have sold for $8950 (Automatic!) to $13,500 for a low mileage bone stock Showroom example. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, as with any used car, a proper and intelligent owner who maintains it is a MUST, parts are inexpensive and Toyota's are known for reliability and longevity. PO stated Timing belt was done prior to my purchase, I have not inspected it, but with the 4AGZE (a non-interference motor) it's not a great concern. 1988 Toyota MR2 Supercharged T-Tops ZERO RUST STOCK Engine and Transmission (4AGZE 1.6L DOHC 16V 145HP) 5speed RWD, no clutch slip even under HARD acceleration. Lowered on Eibach springs, shaved a coil for desired stance (original springs included) GAB Struts (originals disposed of), BLOX Neo-chrome shift knob and Kenwood CD are the only other modifications. 109K original miles, IIRC this car had 3-4 owned before me, I bought it from an Enthusiast in MO, 2010 Dec, drove it 996miles back to Garner (27529) NC without any issue. Car does not smoke, leak or burn any fluids, runs COOL (I think previous owner swapped the thermostat for a low 145/160 unit) even in NC SUmmer with ambient 90+F temps, I can idle in traffic w/o issue (1/2 way on OEM temp gauge) Original S/C wheels were horribly pitted and bent (thrown away) currently rides on 15" x7" Bronze XXR522 Alloys at 25mm offset (15mm wider than stock) Paint resprayed factort 'Super Red' in 2008, clean but with minor chips Single OEM key, owners manual and a book of repair receipts included. Car fires up every time, cold idle @ 1200rpm, warm idle @ 850-1000 Pulls HARD and FAST, stock Intercooler, new battery in 2013 Brakes work as normal, no shudder or pull in either direction Lights, brights, wipers, hazards and horn all work A/C is cold, but not ICY, still works very well Power windows/locks and mirrors Interior is VERY clean, wear on drivers carpet, seats are clean and undamaged, stained, no holes or burns RARE T-top interior covers intact, uncracked dash, all functions, radio, switches work (interior light dimmer wheel finicky) Fuel selector switch (OEM) run on Regular or Premium PICS WERE TAKEN TODAY 7:05PM EST May 11th, 2014 Clean NC title in my name. Is it fast?.........0-60mph in 6.5seconds and I can verify it was MUCH quicker than my 2014 FR-S 2. Can you pick me up from the airport and I can drive it home? I can pickup from RDU airport anytime, I drove the car 1000miles on it's maiden voyage home w/o any issues. 3. Insurance? My insurer (Progressive) added the MR2 to an existing policy for $75 for 6 months, basic coverage. 4. What's the reserve? I have set the reserve at approx $2000 LESS than what the last low-mileage S/C MK1 sold for on eBay :)
