Vehicle Detail
Selling a good, solid, pretty BGT. ------ Runs and drives beautifully Starts every time Idles just right No leaks, smoke, or overheating All gauges work Original radio (doesn't work) Good tires Garage kept Clean, original interior with one small tear in the driver's seat (present when I purchased it); otherwise immaculate Body almost perfect - one dent above the windshield (present when I purchased the car). Repainted at some point in the original primrose yellow. No rust Paint not too bad, some tiny chipped spots Does not have the electronic overdrive, just to be clear Somewhat noisy exhaust - may have a leak A good, solid, nice-looking BGT that is fun to drive Recent work includes: 2011 and 2012 (before I bought it): Brakes Fuel pump Suspension bushings New battery Clutch slave cylinder New fuel tank Then after I bought it in 2012: Electronic ignition installed Oil leak repaired at rear main seal New engine mounts New clutch New coolant New oil and radiator hoses New vee belt Tune-up (plugs, wires, cap/rotor, timing, carbs adjusted) The work that I had done to the car was in the course of driving it from the LA area up to Sacramento. I had an oil leak as I was coming up approaching Santa Cruz. I took the car to Emile's Sports Car Performance in Santa Cruz, where they did the work listed. In order to repair the leak, they had to put a sheath around the crankshaft where it passes to the transmission, because it had worn a groove in its housing. When the car gets hot that sheath hums a bit, making a pure resonating tone. It is a sound that doesn't change with RPM or wheel speed, just a constant tone, which is why I think it is the resonating sheath. It doesn't seem to affect performance in any way. 18,324 shows on the 5-digit odometer. No idea what the actual miles are. I would expect this car to make it to LA or Portland or somewhere else of a similar distance with no problem. I have been driving the car lightly every couple of weeks to keep it going, but have decided that classic car ownership is not really for me, at least not right now, so I am selling it. I am offering this car at a low starting bid and no reserve. It may be a great deal for you. More pictures available on request. Located in Sacramento, California.
