Vehicle Detail

1978 Ford Mustang King Cobra Low RESERVE Heres the story on this very rare (aprox 4500 made) Mustang II The plates where last registered in 1983 !! fuel pump went out and it was parked where it sat until a few months ago. Last owner passed away yrs ago and the car just sat. We cleaned out the tank some and fuel lines, installed a new fuel pump, the original Carter we kept too, was still on the car, and the car came to life. The clips holding on the rear brake drums are still on the car as are original belts from the 70s !! It will still need a good tune up, maybe a carb rebuild and a water pump (the current one is old and leaking) before its road worthy. It will also need tires. DRIVETRAIN: original 302 V8 matted to a factory 4 spd with an 8" rearend w/ 3:00 gears. INTERIOR: sat in the Az sun and heat for many yrs but the windows where tinted and the front glass was covered so it held up better then most cars this old. The stock radio is missing but the dash does not seem to be molested. Rear seat is fold down. I saw a few places where weatherstripping glue had gotten on parts of the cloth seats. All the windows work well. See pics for better idea of what to expect. EXTERIOR: Super clean AZ rust free body and most of the paint is the original dk blue. Looks like the RF fender may of been replaced at one time, but dont see ANY signs of damage to the aproxs etc. I doubt youd find a more rust FREE King Cobra at this price anywhere. Rear window louvers are factory and all the specific King Cobra body kit stuff is in really nice shape and accounted for. (air dam, side spats, scoop) Suspension: this cars suspension feels good for just driving around the parking lot and stuff. No wierd noises etc. The factory 13" alloy wheels are there and in nice shape. Tires are OLD and need to be changed. With only aprox 59k on the car which could be original the bushings may not be all the worn out . Making the car a driver less costly for the buyer. This car is 95% rust free Arizona car Aprox 4500 King Cobras where built making them as rare as a Boss Mustang or an early Z28 Camaros This is still a Muscle car that would be great to restore seeing that its survived this long thanks to the AZ desert. Ive driven these cars that are in nice shape and they are fun to drive and have plenty of power and great balance right out of the box. These cars rarely even come up for sale anymore Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. Heres a great chance to buy the Mustang II youve been waiting for. marketed well for all ebay bidders and buyers Being sold by us, a seller with excellent feedback and history With ebay and buyers. What more could you ask for ? :) There you have it, probably The BEST represented Stangs on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND I wont end the auction early !! CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. But keep in mind, the car cant ship until you get your title from us in hand. This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises and our Feedback speaks for itself ! EMAIL US WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE !! Car will obviously ship as OPERATIONAL no problem. Chances are people overseas will be bidding on this car, so we can easily get the car to the docks in CALIF for a fair price and promptly if you need the help. IF you need a shipping quote, just email us with your city/state and Ill find out our best quote for you !! No problem helping it to the docks if you are shipping overseas . If there is a winner, please email me when the auction ends and say Hi and we can take it from there. Bank Wires need to be prompt if you are out of the country because they always seem to take longer then expected. I bank with B of A which makes things easy for many out of state for payment. direct deposit or Cashier checks If you wire the funds we must add a $50 fee that our bank charges us. must clear before car can move. Its a sign of the times, sorry. IF RESERVES NOT MET, email us anyway maybe we can work out a deal after it ends. NO PAYPAL unless you want to do a $500 deposit only - rest direct bank deposit or wire Must be paid within 5 days of auctions end. On Apr-23-14 at 01:18:05 PDT, seller added the following information: DRIVETRAIN MODS: forgot a few things, wanted to add, the car has headers with old oldbolt on Hush Thrush header mufflers and the exhaust needs to be finished, but as is, itreally sounds not all that bad or too loud.Back early in the cars life, the 2v carb and manifold where swapped out for an OLD styleperiod correct though, Edelbrock Torker Aluminum 4v intake with a Holley 600 carbbolted on to it.The cooling system will need a good flush, Ive flushed it some already.Brakes work, but will need to be bled some too and flushed out. The power brake booster makes a wierd "squish" noise everytime you step on the pedel. The old school Holley finned aluminum valve covers are period correct and cool Personally Id toss on a set of factory 84-86 Mustang GT finned aluminum valve coversthat had Powered by Ford on them, but thats just a suggestion. AC is ALL connected and trys to come on when you move the levers in the car but Im sure that will need some attention too during its restoration by the new owner. Trans feels great as does the clutch, so no issues there. On Apr-24-14 at 00:55:31 PDT, seller added the following information: DAY 2 of the auction UPDATE: Went to put more fresh gas in the tank today. Come to find out that thereis a auxiliary tank FORD installed on this yr Mustang to increase capacity for owners. The tanks where plastic and this cars AUXILIARY tank behind the LR tire in the wheelwell is split open. I took it out to see if it was fixable but its not. Come to find out most owners remove this tank anyways and install a FILLER NECK PIPE from an earlier model Mustang II and just delete the tank. So at the moment the tank is out and that too will need to be addressed with the new owner. I may have found a good used filler neck, the longer version locally, and if I get it before the auction ends, Ill throw it in for free.ALSO, the car doesnt want to run on the gas in the tank. I mentioned earlier on the tank will prob need to be removed and cleaned out. I may try to do that before the auction endsIF I have time. But for now, I have the car running off a small bottle of fresh gas underthe hood to be able to move it around the parking lot and onto a car hauler etc. Also the rear view mirror is missing too and the headliner has a split in it and starting tocome down.
