For those of you who are not familiar with these Datsun 1600 Roadsters, this was Datsuns/Nissans very first sports car to hit American soil. Only 6,999 of these in left had drive were built for the 1968 model year and these cars were built and brought here to compete with the MG's, Triumphs and alike cars but without the constant oil puddles one experienced with the European cars. This 1968 Datsun SPL311 1600 Fairlady Roadster is a documented 3-owner car with a documented 40,000 actual original miles. From 1999 to 2001 this 1968 Datsun 1600 Fairlady Roadster experienced a complete nut and bolt frame off no expense spared restoration, which is cataloged with hundreds of photos and receipts, which do come with the car to the next lucky owner. VEHICLE HISTORY: This 1968 Datsun 1600 Fairlady Roadster is a documented 3-owner Car and comes to the next owner with the Original New Car Registration. This 1600 Roadster was purchased new in Westminster California and the second and third owner are from California as well. Vehicle was completely restored nut and bolt frame off with no expense spared. FRAME AND BODY: Entire car was completely disassembled frame off. Body is all steel, bead blasted, sanded and blocked and painted back to original Red, Paint Code 664. Entire underbody painted with POR 15 and then clear Coated. Frame was also bead Blasted, painted with POR 5 and completely clear coated. All doors, fenders, hood and deck lid are original to the car. All chrome triple plated to show quality. ENGINE: Engine completely disassembled, block boil cleaned, head resurfaced, new cam bearings, main bearings, new rod bearings, new freeze plugs, new oil way plugs, valve springs checked, new water pump, all new seals and gaskets. EXHAUST: New headers ceramic coated. New exhaust system ceramic coated TRANSMISSION: New clutch, throw out bearing. All new seals and gaskets.
