Vehicle Detail

*****I am relisting this superb Carrera 4 Cabriolet due to a fraudulent bidder hitting the buy it now button. Once I noticed the scam I contacted Ebay and they took the necessary steps to correct the problem. So now this fine car is available to a serious, real buyer.. Thank you ******** I am putting up my 1999 Porsche Carrera 4 Cabriolet ,for your consideration. I am Running out of garage space and I have to decide what must go if I am to add anything else. This Superb Carrera 4 Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red with Black Supple full leather interior. The full Leather interior means almost everything is covered in leather, doors, dash, console ,side panels, even air vents ,in other words full leather interior. The car has a black fully automated and fully lined power convertible top. This is one of the best and most desirable color combos for this car and the overall look is further enhanced by the beautiful Porsche sport classic 3 piece 18” alloy wheels, toped off by the Chrome exhaust tips. The interior is also highlighted by Porsche design carbon fiber center tunnel ,steering wheel, shift knob and hand brake lever. The car has the full power seat package ,with drivers side memory, factory cd changer, Sport touring package as well as the factory Hard top. That mostly takes care of how the car is equipped ,and now for the much more important description on the cars overall condition. That can be summed up in one word really, Superb. This is without a doubt one of if not the nicest 99 Carrera 4 cabs out there period. Not only condition and mechanical wise but service wise as well. I bought the car from the family of the second owner who had purchased it from Baker Porsche in SC. A little over 10 years ago, as a fully certified Porsche. I purchased it from his family after he had passed away. This car has spent it’s whole life in the south. The car has NO paint work except for minor touch up’s of little rock chips and small scratches ,that need very close inspection to even find. The paint looks stunning and has maintained it’s gloss and shine just like it did when it left the factory 15 years ago. There has been NO body work NOR has this car been in any accidents what so ever. The top works perfectly and is also in excellent condition. No rip’s ,tears, frays or weak spots at all. The rear plastic window was replaced, due to clouding( a common problem)right before I bought it. So that is in perfect condition as well. The Hard top matches the rest of the car, which means it looks perfect as well. The leather interior is excellent as well. There are no tears, rips ,drying or cracking, no shrinking or pulling at the seems or any other blemish. The interior really does look superb, especially compared to most other 996 interiors, which usually don’t wear that well. Everything works as it should, including the climate control, as well as all the LED displays( another problem area with some 996’s). I have had 9 other 911’s over the years and I bought this car just to use as a daily driver. I looked for 6 months to find the best 996 I could ( they are a very underrated Porsche and if maintained properly makes great drivers). Since owning this low mileage beauty I have done what anyone looking at any 911 from 1999 to 2008 should do, which is Replace the IMS bearing with an updated part as well as replacing the RMS with an updated seal as well. While I was having that done I also had a New Clutch put in . I also had my shop go over the car and fix any other little thing that was needed as well as flush all fluids, including the gearbox and differentials. I have changed the oil twice in the past year and approximately 3000 miles I have put on the car. When not driven the car is always garaged and covered in a car capsule, which is how I keep all my cars, hence the need for space. This car needs absolutely nothing and can be driven with supreme confidence anywhere in the country for many miles and years to come. Now you can find some cheaper Carrera 4 cabs out there, but if they aren’t in the same condition or have not been as fully serviced ,including resolving the IMS and RMS issues ,then how good a buy are they? If you buy one that has not had the updated IMS and RMS parts then you WILL have to do that service, because even if the IMS bearing is in good condition(as mine was) they will eventually fail especially 2001 to 2004 models using the single row bearing. With this car there is no worries at all , it’s already done and done right with the right parts. With this issues addressed you can enjoy the 996 for what it is, a truly great driving 911. This was the first of the more civilized 911’s and is great on the highway for high speed cruising compared to the older air cooled cars, which were much more high stung and noisy and the highway. Not only that but with all the so called 996 engine problems addressed they are actually a lot more reliable then the old Metzger designed air cooled engines( as great as they were). I’ve had them all and can attest to that. Please keep my description of this Carrera 4 Cab in mind, as well a looking at all the pictures I have of this car(over 150 on the link),when making an offer or a bid. This isn’t a fire sale or anything like it ,in fact I just might keep the car and deal with my garage space issue another way. There is an old saying you get what you pay for and in this case you will be getting a worry free superb 1999 Carrera 4 cab, definitely one of the best ones you will find. Thank you for looking at my posting and you will not be disappointed in this beauty.
