This is a 1968 L68 Corvette, one of only 1900+ manufactured, to the best of my knowledge. It is a 427/400hp turbo automatic T-top coupe but has a 1971 Chevelle 350 cu.in. with mild cam and a new 600 holley carburetor that performs well. So the story goes, guy that had the Chevelle wanted a big block & the guy that had the Corvette wanted better gas mileage, so they traded. WOW!! I purchased the car in 2005 for my wife, she said not to bring it home unless it was red- it is RED. The car has not been driven much in the last several years, so time to sell it to someone else who will love it. Car has no reserve and is priced to sell! Exterior: I have replaced all the chrome on the back of the car. Paint job is daily driver quality as you can see from the pictures. Interior: This car has a telescoping steering wheel, no power brakes, no power steering and no power windows. The interior of the car has new carpet, door panels and original radio (which does not work). Seats are fair for this year but need redone. Three storage compartments work. Mechanical: The speedometer when I bought the car had 59,000+ miles. I replaced the speedometer cable and it currently has 64,070; I cannot verify if this is the original miles since the speedometer did not work when I got the vehicle. I have replaced the entire vacuum system: hoses, controls and actuators. As you can see from the pictures, the tires have less than 5,000 miles on them. The wheels are not original for this year, they are 8 in. and a set of five from a 1971 Corvette; they were sandblasted and repainted. Exhaust system is fairly new. Transmission was rebuilt: new shift kit put in just before I purchased it and it works well. The brake system was rebuilt in 2005: calibers, pads, rotors, flex hose lines, proportioning valve and master cylinder were replaced at that time.
