Vehicle Detail

cen017 Store This is an incredibly nice little car. With the overdrive on it runs 50-60 with no stress on the motor. This rare option reduces the final gear from 3.31 to 2.8. The previous owner added the dual exhaust appearance which is a nice touch to me. The sound is original not having loud mufflers. The exhaust by the way in in excellent condition. The original 6 volt system for the electronics in intact.I bought the car in Seattle, Washington several years ago seeing it on ebay while on vacation there. It was traded in by a collector for a new pick up. A Mazda dealer sold it to me. The original dealer was just across the bay no more than two miles from where I bought it. You can see the original dealer chrome plaque on the left lower trunk. The TIRES are brand new Cooper reproductions that cost me $800+ when mounted and balanced. The original tires looked great but they desinegrated sitting in the garage being 30 years old themselves. The brakes have a slight pull and working on them requires a hub puller. I got an original that I will throw in with the car. The pullers can be used on multiple 50's model cars and this original heavy duty style cost me, I think , about $120.00 There are new brake shoes in the trunk but I just got the puller and have not had time to pull the hubs and work on the brakes. This is not a significant issue in driving the car after the first few stops. I am the forth owner as I can figure it out from the catalogue of papers that pleasantly came with the car after I already made the decision this was a very nice car. I have every literature item on this car that is available from the sales brochures to the special articles on the overdrive system. I will throw this in for $250.00 which is safely less than I have in them. This includes a mechanics manual. Everything worksPAINT : painted in the 1980's according to the previous owner who talked with me and gave me all of the verbal history you will see here. This is a excellent quality repaint and you can see how it matches the firewall color which was untouched. There are no blisters, paint coming off, cat eyes, discolorations or runs. Notice how nice the hood is painted around the hood ornament in the pictures. In occasional areas one can see where the sanding of the original paint could have been better making out tiny original cracks but you would never notice them at 20 inches from the paint.DOCUMENTAION : From the new car sales papers right up to the present. CHROME : Rechromed also in the 80's and is mint quality from a New England firm.INTERIOR : See for your self in the pictures. No cracks in steering wheel. Seat Covers are new and correct type. Carpet was added making for a more quiet car ride. Originals came with rubber front floor board as I recall. (I grew up in the 50's and learned to drive with this exact car minus the overdrive) The head liner has a stain around the visors that I originally thought had been a leak. An elderly upholsterer told me these cars had some kind of tar paper under the head line up front and in hot weather has this tendency to cause the stain. I have verified there are no leaks. As far a rust goes, there is a single hard to see minor rust that on careful inspection can be seen on the bottom of the right door to the front side. I have had the car 3-4 always garaged and there has been no change in that time. This is a minor spot and could be perfected with very little work by a good body person. This spot is about 1 cm by 6 cm and shows as a small irregularity in the paint. There is no open rust area or through and through rust. On Apr-04-14 at 05:54:04 PDT, seller added the following information: ....If any questions call Roy at 270 776 2997 or Judy at 270 647 0730. The previous owner told me he spent $3000 on the chrome alone by the way.On Apr-04-14 at 10:43:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone wanted motor pictures. It appears I cannot change pictures or add pictures. The motor area is in line with the rest of the car. The original firewall color looks exactly the same as the repaint. The motor and all is very clean and well above average. If anyone wants a motor picture and you are allowed to send me an email address I will send the pictures to you directly. I had intended to include under the hood pictures but for what ever reason did not get them in running over the limit. The motor area is not "detailed" like a show car....it is just way above average in presentation original.
