Offered for Sale by the California Automobile
This 1966 Ford Thunderbird for sale at the California Automobile Museum was donated to us. This vehicle does not run and the engine does not turn over. We have a clean and clear California Title and the vehicle is in Non Operational Status with the DMV.
Exterior
The Wimbledon White paint is a repaint and does have orange peel throughout the vehicle. The body on this vehicle is very solid and I could only find one spot that seemed to have some filler is just behind the passenger door on the lower section of the panel. The cowl vents have a small dent in them on the right side. The trim throughout the vehicle is in good shape. The front bumper is straight and has good chrome. The rear bumper has a dent on the right side. The grill is in good shape but is missing the emblem. The lenses on the vehicle are in good shape. The glass throughout the vehicle is in good shape and does not have any cracks. The Bridgestone tires have about 11/32nds of tread on them and are in good shape. I was unable to find a date code on them.
Interior
The interior presents well. The red vinyl seats are in great shape and they do not have any rips or tears in them. The trim on the inside is complete and in good condition. The door panels are complete but the top edge of the driver's side door panel does have some cracks. The headliner is complete but it does have a couple of holes poked in it in various areas. The padded dash has two cracks in it. The instruments cluster is complete. All of the knobs and switches in the dash are present. The tilt away steering wheel is in good condition. The carpets are complete but they do have some fading and are dirty in some areas.
Mechanical
This 1966 Thunderbird does not run. The engine appears to be seized as I cannot turn it over with a breaker bar. There are notes in my file that indicate there was or is water in the cylinders. We do not know where it is coming from. The oil on the dipstick does appear to have some water in it (pictured). This vehicle is equipped with power steering and power brakes.
I was able to check some of the electrical out and the lights and signals all work as they should. The interior lights also work correctly.
Overview
This vehicle is being sold as is where is and the buyer will be responsible for pickup or shipping. This vehicle will roll and we would be able to help get the vehicle out of the museum for pickup. As stated previously this vehicle was donated to us in this condition and we do not have any history of why it stopped or when it stopped.
