Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is one nice 1942 Packard Clipper 110 Custom, with fresh on frame restoration. Build date 12-24-1941 This Packard has just finished its restoration. This was a nice, no rust ever, 65,000 mile car, when the restoration was started 10 years ago. New dark blue paint was added to a very straight, unmolested body. The paint looks black, but is deep dark blue in the light.( Pictures do not show the beautiful dark blue color.) The car dose have fender skirts that come with, but they have not been put on as of yet. New stainless Rocker moldings, are attached below the doors. New chrome platting is on the out side, bumpers, grill, head light & tail light bezels, and more, add to the fresh look. Its sporting stock wheels, hubcaps, with new tires purchased 10 years ago, new tubes, and Lukas wide white Porto-walls. The two front hubcaps are 1946 not 1942. The rears are the 1942's. We only have the two 1942's. All new brakes were added, with new shoes, hoses, master cylinder, and they work as they should. You open the doors to new LeBaren & Bonney, Wool Brod-cloth interior, installed by Dido Upholstery, a very well known old car upholsterer. Fresh door rubbers, and new rubber step plates, at each door threshold, add to the look. A fresh wood gained dash, & window moldings, are set off by new plastic dash center, plastic window wiper knob, and ash tray plastics. Also new door handles & window cranks handles with backers have been added, to make a complete, and new look, to the cars beautiful interior.(looks great) The speedometer in the car was changed, so it shows 21,540 miles.(not correct) Press the gas pedal to start, and hear the rebuilt engine sing. The engine was built by Hagen Machine & Parts of Seattle. Carburetor was sent off for special rebuild, and works well. Again, this car has the gas pedal start, so carburetor is special. All new ex host, with mufflers, and tail pipes makes this Packard very quiet, when running. The car has a new gas tank, with electric fuel pump for priming, but will runs on its stock one. New wiring kit was also installed. Over $40,000.00 has been invested in the restoration, but the owner now has health problems, and must sale. He has not been able to install the fender skirts, or change out the tail light lens that got broken when it was installed. New tail light bezels also need installed. I'm listing this Beautiful Packard for my friend. He has set a low reserve, way lower than his investment. He needs to sale the car. I will try to answer all questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end, and in anyway we can. Please call Bill with your questions.
