1978 Honda Civic Hondamatic. 1200 Semi automatic 2 speed transmission. Manual choke. Sky roof and luggage rack. Car still runs and was my everyday car driving it to work and wherever else I needed to go. As this a 35 year old car there are issues to be addressed. When I bought this car 4.5 years ago, I had hopes of fully restoring it but with a busy schedule, tight budget and 2 kids... I was only able to do the minimal to keep it going, oil changes, tune ups, exhaust, brakes, new radiator etc General maintenance, but now I unfortunately have to let it go and hope the next owner will love it and give it the more in depth attention it deserves and take it to the next level. I'm not a car person meaning I do not work on cars nor do I have a great knowledge of them. What I do know (based on what the mechanic who knows the car assed) is this car could need a new head gasket as there is a heating issue. The radiator is fine, so is the fan but When the car idols for to long, specially in summer, the engine gets hot, so heat leaks. There are no fluid leaks otherwise. Another thing is when it rains the engine has a hard time starting. I think it has something to do with the head gasket issue it could be the carborator as well... I started this car mostly everyday i needed to get to work or around town, even on vacations. except for the times the car needed a new alternator and starter, ignition coil. I just bought a new car 3 months ago, i cant stand to see it just sit. I am also including new front strut mounts. There are rust issues as well. the sky roof needs to be resealed. Anyone wanting this car should be prepared to do a paint job as I was going to do, it's only fitting for a great car like this. Every time I drive it, it brings smiles, joy and comments, you will truly love this car.
