Up for auction from my collection is my 1975 Honda CB550 Four. I purchased this CB550 some time ago with the intent of doing a complete and show quality restoration or using it as an excellent starting point for a café racer as they gain popularity and value. I targeted this particular CB550 because it is has the core components to complete a show quality restoration/café build with and have a very valuable vintage classic. The frame number appearing on this CB550 is CB550F-1009062 and the engine number is CB550E-1109184 making this a numbers matching correct original motorcycle. The build date on the vin tag reads 2/75. I now realize I do not have the time to do all the restorations/builds I had originally planned on or time to give this classic CB550 the attention it really deserves so I have decided to let it go to a new owner. I am convinced the new owner will have an excellent starting point for a show quality restoration or could easily have a very nice café racer after the project is complete. This would also be the perfect early CB550 to export to another country and restore as I have a clear title in my name and this CB550 is ready for export to any destination. Mechanically, this CB550 did run at one point and has been parked for years. The engine is slightly stuck from sitting unattended for years and may possibly easily free up. As you can see from the pictures, this deserving restoration candidate/café build project will need some parts but if you can envision this CB550 with side covers and the other few remaining parts installed as well as a wash you will see a mostly complete and deserving restoration candidate. I believe this would be an excellent candidate for a restoration/café build since it is a numbers matching original example with a clear title. The CB550 models have always been a favorite of mine but unfortunately I do not have time to enjoy all the Japanese motorcycles I have accumulated over the years so it is time to let a few go and let you enjoy them as I have. I had originally planned to do a complete show quality restoration/cafe build on this CB550 at some point as this is a very deserving candidate. Please look past the dirt as I have not had time to give this CB550 a wash and envision what it could be with some work and a few parts.
