I purchased this GSXR in April 2013 with the intent of performing a full restoration on it. Very complete and original with the exception of the Kerker exhaust. When I first rode the bike it had been sitting for a while, and was running poorly due to gummed up carburetors. The following work was performed in May 2013 at 23,996 miles; Drain old fuel and clean fuel tank. Replace fuel petcock with new Suzuki OEM unit. Remove carbs for full sonic cleaning, and adjust. Replace air filter with K+N filter. Oil and filter change with synthetic oil. Clean all brake calipers, flush hydraulic lines and master cylinders. Replace all hydraulic fluid with synthetic. Replace clutch packs. New Bridgestone Battlax tires in correct sizes. New front and rear sprockets. New 530 Regina chain. Remove and re-install exhaust system, coat all studs with never sieze. Replace leaking fork seals with new Suzuki OEM seals, and replace fluid. Removed all fairings, cleaned engine and related parts. Polish fairings. Replaced missing or damaged hardware. This is a great bike to complete a restoration on, or just ride it and enjoy. Mechanically it is excellent. Ive spent almost $3,000 to have the above mentioned work performed. It runs, stops and handles with no issues whatsoever. It pulls strong through every gear, and the transmission shifts perfectly. The wheels are in excellent shape, with no guages, nicks or dents. The instrument faces are in great condition, this wasn't a bike that sat outside a lot. As I said, my intention was to finish the restoration. It now needs paint to be perfect, and an original exhaust to be stock. From 10 feet away it looks near perfect, the paint still has good luster. Weakest part is the decals which have faded somewhat. I will include with the sale an OEM decal kit which I bought specifically for this bike, in the correct color scheme.OEM exhaust pipes are available all over EBay, and the internet.
