1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible... This Challenger has been sitting for several years. We installed a new battery and put the power top down, gave it a shot of starting fluid and it fired right up. I have personally confirmed that the engine, core support, cowl, fender tag, door tag and vin tag are all numbers matching. The transmission appears to have been rebuilt along with the engine at one time and I could not confirm the transmission was the original. I have looked everywhere for a build sheet only to find a very small piece under the back seat. The car has had one repaint and let me tell you they did a terrible job. This repaint was back in the late 80's. Everybody panel appears to be original along with the trunk floor. The car will need some rust repair on the rear outer quarters, trunk floor and deck lid. The floor boards and frame are in as nice shape as you will find. The top appears to be original and is driver quality with the exception of needing a new back window. The top functions as it should for a power top. The exhaust looks fairly new but looks to be a local muffler shop job. The windshield is cracked in the lower LH corner. The rest of the glass appears to be original as well. The seats are original and not split like the dash pad is. The carpet is not original and looks like cheap replacement carpet, not the best fit. This car has never been wrecked and is from my local town all of its life. The stripe is NOT correct, it should have a longitunal strip as noted on the fender tag. The hood pins are also NOT original. This car is very original minus the respray it had 30 years ago..... It runs and moves but would not suggest driving it until its gone through. The radio does not work, it needs window felts, needs a windshield, etc..... this is a project car. I have a clear open Indiana title (states mileage N/A ). I am only selling because I found another car I would like to purchase.... I chased this car for many years. I would consider a trade as long as it was in my favor (I would need to sell the trade to aquire the car I wish to purchase) Not very often does a TRUE R/T convertible in a high impact color come along in this condition..... This will make someone a perfect restoration project. Personally I would tune it up, freshen the brakes, do minimal paint work and drive it as is.... Please look at the pictures and be the judge. I suggest you come look at this car for yourself if you are serious. I do not want someone to get a surprise if you buy it sight unseen and have it shipped. It is old, dirty, stinks and has been sitting for years. It has been in a heated garage since 1989 with less than 700 miles since then... lol Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer.
