Vehicle Detail

My wife and I are selling our 1992 BMW 325i 4-Door Sedan, which we have owned for slightly more than two years. I had been a really great car, and I am disappointed to have to let it go, but it needs a new head gasket, and my wife would rather get a different car, than spend the money on the repair (The car has been great, for us, and, personally if I had the space for a third car, and a garage where I could do major repairs, I would just keep it). We purchased the car back in November of 2011. At that time, the previous owner had informed us that he had installed new shocks. The ride of the car reflects that, because it's really amazing, and it doesn't seem possible that a 1992 car could have such a great ride. But it does. Besides the ride of the car, the second best feature, for me, was always the great gas mileage. A close third was the six-cylinder engine. These cars are just so great, especially for someone who is mechanically inclined, and has the space to work on them: really easy to access components, plenty of easily accessible parts and information, plenty of recycled parts, in junkyards, etc., they look great, drive great, don't seem out-of-date, and have dirt-simple, ergonomically-placed controls. (In case you're wondering, my other car is also an E36 BMW.) A detailed description, of all the pros and cons, follows. I have made every effort to be as thorough, and honest, as possible. Hopefully, I have captured all of the necessary information, in the description, and/or the photos. If you have any questions, please contact me through eBay. Vehicle History Reports, and Vehicle Inspections, are available, and can be arranged through eBay. Pros: IT'S AN E36 BMW, one of the most sturdy, reliable, and fun-to-drive cars ever made! (If you have the mechanical skills to finish the (mostly) small jobs, listed here, you will have yourself a really nice driver!)PREMIUM ALLOY WHEELS: Genuine BMW factory aluminum alloy wheels, all four in excellent condition (see photos). SHOCKS: Replaced within the last two years. Results in an AMAZING ride, for a car of this vintage. (Seriously, you'll think you were driving around in a new car.) WATER PUMP: New.RADIATOR HOSES: Upper & lower radiator hoses recently replaced. BELTS: New.TRANSMISSION FLUID & FILTER: Recently changed/replaced.MOTOR OIL & FILTER: Recently changed/replaced.REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLIES: Excellent condition, may have been replaced, just before I purchased the vehicle.HEADLIGHTS: Recently reconditioned with a 3M kit, and they look very good (see photos). GAS MILEAGE: Although I don't know exactly what it is, it's very good (I think close to 30mpg). Incredible, when you consider the fact that it's a 6-cylinder engine. Cons: HEAD GASKET REPAIR NEEDED: Must be replaced. NOT REGISTERED/NO SMOG CERTIFICATE: Since it has a blown head gasket, it won't pass California smog, which means we can't register it. Therefore, even though the car runs, it must be sold as "non-operational" (Not a problem, if you are outside CA). However, for those residing in CA, all of the registration fees are paid, and there are no outstanding parking tickets, therefore, a CA buyer would only have to pay for his own sales tax and smog certificate, to register the car. I can provide documentation, of this, upon request. PAINT: Passenger's-side and Trunk paint in very good condition, however, driver's-side, hood, and roof paint are showing significant chipping and peeling (see photos).SUNROOF NON-FUNCTIONAL: A working replacement sunroof motor, is included. FRONT VALANCE PANEL DENTED: See photos. HEADLINER SAGGING: Can be re-covered, with $40 of fabric that you can get at Pep Boys, and a little elbow grease. DRIVERS DOOR PANEL: Panel separates from door, at bottom. An easy fix, with BMW plastic clips. BOTH FRONT DOOR ARMRESTS: Slight separation of the covering fabric. ALL SEATS: Leather wear is typical of cars of this age. Except for drivers' seat, upholstery is worn, but not torn. Could be reconditioned, inexpensively.DRIVER'S SEAT: Similar to other seats, with 2"-3" tear, on the outside bolster. ENGINE PLASTIC COVER (Cosmetic): The attachment screw is broken, but could easily be repaired. Although not shown in the photos, it is included with the car. FRONT DOOR SILLS: Missing. FOG LAMPS: Missing Miscellaneous: There are a number of small (mostly plastic) parts, such as the driver's door handle trim ring, which are currently not on the car, but which I can provide to the new owner.TERMS AND CONDITIONS Buyer's Responsibilities:It is sole responsibility of the buyer to have done their due diligence, with regard to having this vehicle inspected by a 3rd party individual or service facility prior to purchase to satisfy their own expectation regarding originality, description, fitness, performance and overall condition of this vehicle.
