Vehicle Detail
This is a classic 1980 CB650 Honda which looks good and is in good shape for its 33 years, but needs some mechanical attention. It would be a very good bike for a person who loves the 80s "muscle bikes" and who is willing to deal with a couple of mechanical issues. The paint is quite good for the 33 year old bike, there is no major rust, except for some rust on the luggage rack. The bike starts with some coaxing when cold and very easily when warm. It seems to idle fine. All instruments/electrical work as do the brakes and clutch. The seat is new and I will also include the old seat which needs upholstery, along with a shop manual. I have taken pictures of the tires which have good tread, but the front has some checkering. Charging system has been repaired and is working fine. The bike smokes out of one set of mufflers and I do not know the cause. I do not see smoke when first started, but it smokes out of one of the sets of mufflers when warm. I have tried to show the smoke in the photo. There also appears to be oil drips coming from the head. As I am not a mechanic, I do not know the problem. It may be major or minor, so bid accordingly. The bike seems to have good power without stumble nor hesitation. I am selling the bike because I prefer the earlier bikes (from the 60s) and this bike is not from that era, and I don't know what is causing the smoking. I bought it just because it looked so good (the red is really a great color.) This is being relisted because, as it turned out, the prior winning bidder knew little about motorcycles and really needed an around - town putter. We decided mutually that this was not the bike for her. This is a really well preserved specimen of a classic bike and should go to someone who will give it the care and repair it deserves. I have started this auction low and with no reserve. THE BIKE IS IN MY NAME, HAS GOOD CALIFORNIA TITLE, AND HAS CURRENT CALIFORNIA TAGS: ALL FEES HAVE BEEN PAID - THE LICENGING WAS DONE LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO - SO IT WOULD TAKE VERY LITTLE TO TITLE THE BIKE OVER TO THE NEW OWNER. The bike is being sold As-Is, Where-Is. Buyer must make shipping arrangements. $200.00 payment is required within 48 hrs. of purchase and payment in full before I release the bike. I have tried to be thorough and accurate. Please ask questions - I would be happy to try to answer them. If you are new to eBay, please contact me so that we can make sure you understand clearly that you are engaging in the potential of a legally binding contract with responsibilities. If you are the winning bidder, please know that the close of auction is not the time to be deciding whether or not you want to buy the bike. At that point, it is yours. PayPal is preferred. Thanks for looking.
