Vehicle Detail

1981 AMC Kammback Up for AUCTION: no reserve FIRST AND FORMOST, we didnt get a title with the car, it was lost by the last owner. I know the car is ok, so if you win it and want an Az title, for about $280 or so, we can get a bonded title in about 10-15 days from starting the process. If you want to do this when you get the vehicle in your possession that is your other option. Its an Eagle ? Kammback ? JEEP underneath with a cool coupe glass hatch in the rear 4x4 !! Restore it like stock OR do you lift it and make it something even more wild !?? These are very rare AMC cars from the 80s, and I honestly cant say Ive seen one here in Tucson (where 4x4s are everywhere) in 25 yrs. Luckily this car has only been in either CA desert area and AZ (which is only desert) so even with some 4x action over the yrs, the body is almost totally rust free as is the underbody etc too. Super rare car you dont want to miss out on if youve been looking for 1 to restore. This poor beast was left out in the Az sun for many yrs and not driven much in the last 10 yrs. I call it a 4x4 Gremlin because the car reminds me of the earlier Gremlins made back Shows 95k aprox on the odometer, no idea if its original DRIVETRAIN: original 4cyl motor w/ basically Jeep running gear AMC put in these back in the day. Its like a Jeep with a car body. The original SUV from the 80s. It starts and runs with little effort. Ive driven it around the parking lot and around the shop yard, but it feels like the maybe a rear brake shoe is stuck or something binding maybe ? Never tried to put it in 4x mode or anything aggressive, just no idea why it feels like something in the transfer case or somewhere is binding up. Im not sure where or what to check but it will be the first thing you want to address when restoring it. Still beats chasing rust holes and damage for days on end. Brakes do work though. Tires are bad bad, factory rims and spare all there. Also, I didnt clean out the gas tank yet from sitting, but running the motor off a small tank of gas under the hood. Its safer for the engine and faster for testing purposes. INTERIOR: think its cleaner under the hood then inside Sorry, been a little busy and the interior wasnt cleaned before pics where taken. But even after cleaning it up some it didnt look much better here. But its vinyl and carpet, not too $ to redo like some cars. The original blue vinyl etc has seen better days. Its rough and could use a full restoration, but how far you restore it depends on what your plans are for the beast. But make no mistake, the Az sun and heat have been hard on it and its been neglected for a number of yrs. At least its mostly complete so you wont be searching for parts all day long. It may clean up with some hard work, but not making any promises. Sometime in its life someone added a pop open aftermarket sunroof, maybe just take it to the next level and put some T tops on it !@ haha. Id still rather restore an interior in a weekend on a truck like this then spend weeks on end trying to repair rust on a body in places you never thought it could exist. EXTERIOR: I believe the paint to be original. The good of course is, Im confident there is no hidden bondo from previous accidents or repairs, which again is a plus if you are going to take it apart and do a nice restoration. Most of the flares and plastic cladding on the body and bumper ends have cracks or misc pieces missing. The But again this isnt a restored truck. All the glass is good. Overall the body is really straight all around, youll see this in the many pics below. This car is 90% rust free Arizona 4x4 Kammbacks rarely come up for sale esp this cheap. Starting the price at $100 with LOW LOW reserve !! Bid to win and dont miss out and wish you had. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. To the best of my knowledge this truck has no past repairs or Hidden bondo on the body and the floorboards are immaculate. There you have it, probably The BEST represented JEEP / Kammback (and prob the only one) on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. We make buying a car long distance easier and less stressful then probably any other seller here. This is the way every car should be marketed, but many sellers have not caught on. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. Or fly in and drive it home, its that reliable and clean. NO TITLE ON HAND but was addressed at the top Of the ad // we can get one if you want to pay the fees I wont end the auction early !! CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. So if you win the car, please contact us that evening via email and lets get it to you asap and as easy as possible. If you choose to have us get the title, youll have to pay for the car in full as well as the bond cost etc and we will do all the hard work. We can even ship the car asap too your way and when we get the title within a few weeks, we will drop that in the mail right away. Our Feedback speaks for itself !
