Title in MY NAME and in MY HAND. Do not buy any motorcycle unless the title is available for transfer the SAME DAY. The GS400X model was the rarer lighter version of the GS400. and is kickstart only, but starts very easy in one or two kicks every time. It has a SIX (6) speed transmission and shifts perfectly thru all gears. I rescued this bike 3 years ago from a garage where it had sat for 20 years. I do not restore bikes but I do many things to improve the safety, handling and appearance. This GS400X is not totally mint condition, and you may want to further complete painting of the frame, or buffing of the motor, replace more tarnished parts etc..that is entirely up to the winning bidder, but let me make this clear: When cleaned up, this bike is real nice and will gather crowds at any bike nite you attend. It runs perfect and will hit over 100MPH quire easily any time you want. It starts, runs ,idles and will lug down in any gear with no ill affects. clutch is perfect and shifts effortlessly. New Superbike style chrome handlebars and mirrors for the lower, more forward stance these bikes deserve. NEW Finish One paint on the tank, front fender, rear tail, and side covers. The tank is sealed with phenol novalac epoxy and the petcock rebuilt. Carbs were professionally stripped, dipped, then ultrasonically cleaned. All o-rings and rubber parts replaced with new. Carbs synchronized after installing new intake rubber boots and o-rings. Both tires were replaced last fall with SHINKO tires. The old spoked wheels were replaced with newer GS450 MAG wheels and the older front end drum brake was replaced with a newer GS450 front forks and disc brake!! The mags were bead blasted and repainted . I changed the rear sprocket to a smaller size so the road speed is higher at lower rpms, resulting in effortless cruising at higher speeds. The stock exhaust was replaced with a vintage KERKER 2 into 1 system and the original baffle is in place. It sounds great and not too loud but very nice sounding. The bike does not have a current inspection but should probably need nothing. The charging system charges a steady 13.8 volts and the rectifier/regulator has been upgraded/modded to a more robust modern Shindengen unit. Also I have 3 THREE ignition keys to go with the bike. The headlight is an aftermarket metal chrome 7" H4 halogen unit that provides spectacular night time riding, while using no more current that the older stock bulb. Finishing up is a new battery and fresh oil change and filter, this is a turn key bike. Everything works including all lights , indicators, turn signals, and lights. NO OIL LEAKS NO ABNORMAL NOISES> $500 due within 24 hours of auction end and the rest will be CASH on pickup. I will ship this bike, but you must make all arrangements. the seat latch is missing and the seat cover is ripped. there may be more small things wrong, but there are also many more new things i have done, but forget. door to door motorcycle transport the I have used with good results!!
