I recently purchased the beetle from the 3rd owner from Butte Montana, said to have 81000 original miles, purchased new from Continental motors of Helena Montana. It is a real survivor car without rust, modifications and runs and drives well. Pros: All original ,gas heater, rear view day night lens, picnic radio, original manuals, nice rubber mats, original headliner, original 6 volt, cool millage logs from first 2 owners. No rust in pan, heater channels, aprons or any to be found. perfect front and rear aprons, 4 original fenders. Runs great and transmission is a typical split case that does not pop out of gear. Original glass, except windshield. Cons: dents in right rear fender,slight scratches and dings in body, 1959 36horse engine, 4/60 engine case to come with car, front seat bottoms torn, carpet worn, brake lights only working on stop light, The hood is not a 4 tab, but is a L41 paint 3 tab. original gas tank removed and replaced with same year ,minus gas heater inlet parts. I have not cleaned , waxed , buffed or detailed this car in anyway and it has a ton of potential to be a knock out survivor daily driver.
