1955 chevy belair two door hardtop needing restored. is mostly complete missing only radiator,gas tank,radio,some glass. Car was last driven in 1971 oil tag on door shows 64k miles in 1969. been in long time storage since then. some kids broke the glass while in storage and most needs replaced. the original drivetrain is still in car, has the power steering driven by the generator option. this motor and trans has never been out of car is completely unmolested. car has deluxe red and beige interior, someone put seat covers on it and it really preserved the seat there in great shape for being almost 60 years old. All the stainless is on car and in good usable condition. car has the usual rust in the usual places. doors,hood,trunk lid, trunk floor are all solid, needs lower quarters and inner rear fender work front fenders need the usual front caps lower dogleg area is solid. rockers have rust but are still pretty solid not completely gone the car was undercoated so it helped preserve the underside but does have a couple of places needing attention but 80% of the floors are solid. need a couple of floor braces replaced. trunk floor is solid still has shinny black paint under original trunk mat which was amazing. shock towers look new. top of car and window frame areas all very solid no rust issues. doors are amazing as well no rust at all. door panels and rear side panels are usuable as is not needing replaced just cleaned. headliner is perfect condition. windows roll up and down and doors open and shut like new. Original trunk mat, jack and spare are in the trunk. its getting harder all the time to find one of these old 55 hardtop belairs . car still has its original black paint that is hiding nothing. but keep in mind this car is nearly 60 years old and has never been restored so no you cant drive it home.trim and vin are in place and I have a clear title.winning bidder must pay a non refundable deposit of 500.00 within 48 hours of auction close and car must be paid in full within 7 days of auction close. if you don't have funds please don't bid.On Oct-18-13 at 14:40:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Today I cleaned off the points with sand paper hooked up a battery dumped some gas down the carb and it fired up and ran till it ran out of gas.
