Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1974 Porsche 914 1.8 liter engine, with appearance group. This car is painted the original light ivory color. I bought this car because it came with an extra engine that I wanted and because it was a good deal. This car has a “branded title”. The guy I got it from bought it at an auction in Portland, OR last December. When he got it the car had a broken windshield, there are fairly minor dents near the top of the passenger side upper window frame and one place near the targa bar (see pics). He thought the car had been vandalized. The guy I got it from said it didn’t run good so he put a single carburetor on it, this car comes with the original fuel injection system and it looks to be complete. This Porsche has been repainted at least once and it is a mediocre job, driver quality, for a show car you will need to repaint it. This 914 runs really good despite the fact that it has a carburetor and not the original fuel injection installed. I drove it and had it up to 70mph, all the transmission syncros are good, the brakes are good, this is a good running and driving car. This car has a newer stereo, speaker, battery, tires, brake work, carburetor, intake and fuel pump etc. This 914 appears to have desirable stainless steel heat exchangers, and the bottom of the engine is dry, I don’t see any leaks. I believe the 2.0 fuchs wheels that are on the car are reproductions, the spare is an original steel “sport wheel” and I’m including a 5th 2.0 fuch replica in a box. The previous owner acquired a VW rabbit fuel injection system which he heard can be adapted to these 914 engines and I’m including that as well (will be in the front trunk). This car is rust free as far as I can tell, there may be some deep down in the “hell hole” the battery support looks solid and it is not rotten like some 914s (see pics of trunks, floor boards from underneath etc.). There is no accident or rust damage to the body or chassis that I have been able to detect and I have looked at every part of this car. The rear panel has a custom lighted Porsche center panel and the rear latch has been deleted. The rear trunk is opened by a button inside the car which activates a solenoid. The odometer shows 71,495 miles. The dash is pristine, the carpet doesn’t really show wear nor do the seats etc. The mileage on the odometer might be correct. I think if it had 171,495 it would show more wear but I cannot guarantee it because I don’t have records.
