Vehicle Detail
Sorry, not sure why Bay pulled my ad: they're not sure either but they apologized and re-listed it. More photos are at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200327547411093.1073741833.1226588532&type=1&l=bdf71ff273 I bought this bike with the insurance money from my son's fatal accident; he was hit by a car that lost control and crossed the line, hitting him head-on on his bike. I have since fallen on hard times and need a last bit of financial help to get me through school and my nursing board exams, my loss is your gain. No, it isn't perfect....if I could afford to make it so, I wouldn't need to be selling it, but it is solid and runs great. I would be happy to pick you up from the airport or Greyhound station if you wanted to ride it home, wherever home may be. I just returned from a 2,000mi ride to take what was left of my son's bike up to PA on a trailer behind mine and it ran flawlessly all the way up and back. You can see pics from that trip at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200441553701179.1073741835.1226588532&type=1&l=8e50954a19 For those not familiar with the Valkyrie, this is a cruiser bike with what is basically a Goldwing engine and tranny. Most of you will know that Goldwings are heavy powerful long-distance touring bikes that will go forever and this one is no different. I often refer to it as "a Goldwing without all the tupperware". This bike is very smooth and powerful as you an see from several Youtube videos at http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=honda+valkyrie+nickel+test+&oq=valkyrie+nickel . There is also has a Champion Escort sidecar attached, and you can learn more about this at http://www.dmcsidecars.com/sidecars/champion-escort/. The sidecar does have the electric trim option that allows you to adjust left-right tracking while on the fly for a no-pressure hold on the handlebars. The bike runs and handles well, even with a trailer and 600lb bike and trailer behind it. I rode it over the Tail of the Dragon and up the Blue Ridge Parkway with no problems. Along the way I did lose the rubber footpeg cover from my left front footpeg and the tonneau cover from the sidecar, but both that and the windshield are available new for not much. The sidecar tire is due for replacement before another long trip but it is only $49 at Wal-mart. The only thing I'm taking off from what you see in the pictures is my bicycle rack as that came from my son's bike. The day before the ride, the front tire was replaced as was the battery and brakes. It does have a 1 1/4" receiver hitch (and trailer wiring) mounted to the sidecar struts and the sidecar is mounted with quick-release hardware allowing it to be removed or replaced in about 15 minutes. It has a 205/60/R15 car tire in the back which does not cause a problem even when riding on 2 wheels (google valkyrie dark side); you just have to lean a little harder in low-speed turns but is imperceptible at high speeds except it feels more solid. I am putting this bike up for a minimum $0.01 bid and no reserve. It sells for what it sells for. You can call me at 850.284.3677 if you have any questions and the bike is available for inspection or a test ride in Tallahassee with a valid motorcycle license, proper insurance and convincing me that you know how to ride a sidecar hack...otherwise I'll be glad to drive you around a bit. Since the bike is available to be looked at before the auction, I expect the sale to be final as is and where is. If you're not sure you want it, feel free to ask any questions you want. I may be able to help with delivery, but please ask and don't assume. I am a full-time student, so I don't have as much free time as i would like. I would require an additional deposit in my bank account at Wells Fargo before I would consider riding it to you as Paypal would not get to me in time to be useful for paying for the trip. If you have any questions please ask and good luck bidding.
