Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1956 Ford Crown Victoria, after 30 years in my family, due to health reasons. This is a fun car which has given us many happy memories and we'd like for her to get a good home where she is treasured and appreciated for her rarity the way she is here. That being said, we don't have to sell this car financially,so will not entertain rediculous offers from people who expect a show car given to them cheap. This car is not a perfect show car and is not being advertised as such. This car is a former show car that still makes a great cruise night car. If you so choose, she could be made into a show car very easily once again. I'm even providing all the chrome to do that with. We are asking less than what people are asking for 55-56 Ford sedans and vicky two door hard tops where you are buying the car only. The person who resored this car is a true Ford man and restored countless 50's Fords. This gentleman still works on this car mechanically yet today and I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on her. If you are the highest bidder and win the car, the car and the clear title will be delivered to you once the car is completely paid for. An initial $500.00 deposit via PayPal and the rest of the payment via cash in person or a bank to bank wire transfer only. Once the wire transfer clears and the money is in my account, you may have the car and the title. Any shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. I am an honest straight shooter and tell it like it is, but unfortunately I've had dealings with people who are crooks, hence the delivery stipulations. Car is being advertised locally, so owner reserves the right to pull the ad, if it sells off of Ebay. Sorry for all the BS, but due to dealings in the past, I needed to set the rules for this deal before we get started. I have a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria in Fiesta Red & Colonial White. She was manufactured in the spring of 1957 towards the end of the model year and is equipped with a 312 - 4bbl V-8 motor all rebuilt. Her original motor was a 292, but it was seized. Being a spring model of 1957 release, the motor was replaced with a correct 312 motor. If you do research, you will see, that the 292 and the 312 motors were both available on the spring model. My friend liked the 312 motor better and put that in instead of some later model Ford incorrect engine, which some people do when the correct motor isn't available. People also do that when they customize them for more power. My friend decided he wanted to keep the car as original as possible. Every thing on this car is completely stock and original to this car except the motor has non-matching numbers because it was out of another car. That being said, at least it has the correct period correct motor in it. Someone emailed me and got nit picky with my ad, so I thought I would clarify things for his benefit and because I didn't want anyone to have any misconceptions about this car. Originally, I just stated that she was a spring model with a 312; but I never stated that she was numbers matching motor wise. Quite a lot of the cars of this age aren't. Heck, most of them don't even have the right period correct motor in them. So to clarify things and be completely out in the open and above board, I've revised this part of the ad. The car is driven with a 3 speed manual on the column. She has no PS,PB or AC; as cars were more basic back then. Our baby had a correct ABC interior installed, along with a new trunk mat, rear deck antenna, front and rear crash guards and redone factory skirts. We showed it for a few years with correct wide white bias ply tires and full wheel covers with the red centers (which are very nice and will go with the car), until we put wide white radial tires with correct 56 wire wheel covers on her. The car's motor has 73,713 original miles and the car is an older restoration. It was restored with any rust being replaced with sheet metal and no bondo what so ever. It still has it's original solid trunk floor, but we did replace the original gas tank when it was restored and it still looks like new. The car speaks for it's self body wise, as there is no rust coming out any where and it's been a few years, since her lacquer paint job. This car was done as a show car and won many trophies when we used to show cars. However, the white lacquer paint has some hairline cracks in it at stress points. You must have a camera right on top of them for them to show in a picture. The cracks are at the rear deck antenna, the passenger's mirror, the passenger's top of the quarter between the stainless and the trunk lid and by the driver's head light. When you take pictures of the cracks, they appear worse in the picture, than what they are in person, due to having to zoom in on top of them for them to show up. A lot depends on what you are looking to do with this car. Some people would be more than content just using her for a nice cruise night car and others would want a show car. That being said, she's a dependable great running car, that I wouldn't be afraid to drive any where, for cruises or show. We had plans on restoring the car,so we gathered up a lot of replacement chrome which is expensive and hard to come buy. The parts are worth at least $5000.-$6000, with the new chrome and the used body parts we have back for the car. These 56's are hot right now and are hard to come by. It is extremely rare to see one for sale. Our Old Cars Price Guide states that a #1 show car is worth $48,500 and supply and demand effect that also, as I've seen some go as high as $60,000. I feel that $28,650. is more than a fair price for the car, because if you repaint this car, she'll be a trophy winner again. Now, I'll give you a list of the chrome I have back for the car. Understand, that the chrome on the car is not rusty or peeling or dented and would make great spares, it's just not show chrome any more. The chrome I have is as follows -front & rear rechromed bumpers, new bumper guards, new grille, new parking lights, new door handles, new emblems, new trunk emblem, rechromed hood bird and new sunvisors. The wires will not need replaced, as they are factory stainless instead of reproduction chrome wire wheel covers. Also, you will get the set of bias ply tires with the very nice set of used 56 red center cap wheel covers. Some years back we had a reproduction FM radio installed in her which fits exactly in the dash with out having to alter the dash in any way. The radio knobs are either like the originals or are made to look like the originals by this company. I'm not sure which is in this car, as I didn't think of that until now. I have another car with one of these radios in and one is one way and the other the other. If this has repro knobs, the factory ones will come with the car, along with her original radio. We also have some used body parts which we had back, just in case she ever got wrecked. We have a nice hood, a pair of fenders, a nice set of used bumpers for rechroming and probably some other parts I haven't dug out yet. If I find any more used parts, I will revise the ad as such. Will be looking this weekend after the Carlisle, PA Fall Meet. That's all I can think of, so if you have any further questions, you can call me anytime. The car is garaged at my home in Paradise, PA . Phone - 717-407-5115 for Ray & Bev Daily Thanks for your interest!!!
