Vehicle Detail
I drove my Porsche regularly until about a year ago when I parked it at my property in the Los Gatos mountains. I wasn't driving it regularly anymore but, was starting it frequently. After a couple of months I decided I should take it for a drive to keep it running good. I started it up and went to drive it to San Jose but turned it off so I could check the oil, water, tires etc. 1st. That was when I spotted the critter nest in the engine! See picture 1. Needless to say I decided not to drive it. I have removed all of the nuts and critter nest but, have been unable to get it started again. The critter chewed through many vacuum lines and I think that is the problem. They are critical to the smog system on this Porsche. It will turn over. I can show it's get spark and gas at least to the fuel injectors. They could be clogged I guess. I hate to see it rot in the mountains and don't have time for it. V8, Automatic, body in perfect condition, a little corrosion around some edges but, as this Porsche has an all aluminum body there is no rust, no dings or dents anywhere, fair interior for age, the seals are old and it does leak some except I have covered the leaking areas with silicone tape. I have all of the parts for it they have been removed for repairs. Clear title and this car was registered and driven regularly until February of this year, 2013. It is currently on a non-op and if you transfer it as a non-op you won't have to have it smogged until you get it running and the DMV fees should be really low. This is a way fun car to drive when its running and though I don't think it will take much to actually get it running, it does need a lot of restoration work. Its a great roller for a restoration. Opening bid is what I have been offered to junk it. If bidding reaches $1,000 I will include many spare parts if wanted, 3 extra oil filters, the computer under driver footrests, disc brakes, carpets, manuals on CD and hardback and more. Check up on this car. It's nickname is the "Shark". It is quite a classic. There is a big 928 club meeting every October in the LA area called Sharktoberfest.
