1975 Triumph TR7 Lets try this again ! last winner was apparently a flake!aka The Wedge ! I still remember the commercials from back in the dayIts a barn find but does need a lot to be restored. But its still too nice to be a parts car. Comes with clear Az title. Not much else out there looked like an TR7. OPERATIONAL: we hooked a small electric fuel pump to the carb connected to a small tank under the hood, then ran a hot wire from the + side of the battery to the coil, hit the starter switch inside and voila, it started and ran. I sat there and let it run a few minutes till the gas ran out, and it Sounded good and ran well !! In the time frame it was running I did notice fuel dripping out of the carb. But hey, the motor isnt seized up, no knocking and no water in the oil at least ! Here is an example of a cool 35+ yr old British car still wearing its original Orange paint (no bondo detected on the car) and 90% rust free. Nice 5 spd car that came with factory A/C , pretty rare. This car was found basically in a carport outside Tucson where its been in the Az weather for its whole life. Its also been parked now for the last 10 yrs. E brake works, other brakes have no fluid in the system. Im going to add some fluid and try to get them bled this week. The car is easy to push around and stop as is and helps for shipping purposes.ORIGINAL Paint is pretty faded as you may expect, and pass side got a small rippled on the door and thing the hinges are bad on that side. Door closes okay, but needs to be lifted a little when latching. Also the regulator I believe is bad on that door too. Glass is still in the door and in good shape.Car looks actually good in the pics and for the most part its a great car that would restore nicely and with much less work then most this old. The worst part about the car is Az sun and heat has been hard on the interior plastics and rubber of course. Most of the plastic is very brittle. Front seats although a little dusty, not that bad of shape. If you had a rusted out TR7 sitting somewhere with a good interior, just put the 2 together and make one nice car ! Im also GIVING AWAY with this car a dual carb set up carbs and manifold for FREE Ill put in the trunk. in case you want to do a conversion DRIVETRAIN: original 4 cyl and 4 spd transmission.. very original and fairly unmolested under the hood, the air cleaner is missing, but the carb has been well covered up for the last 10 yrs while parked. Very complete and as mentioned I had this engine running just a few days ago with some creative workings. The AC stuff in this car has to be worth what my starting bid is at. So do you leave it like factory or do something really coollike convert it to an Electric Sports car for 2013 !? maybe lower it with some nice 16x8 rims and have fun ! A fair amt of room for that project, how cool would that be ? INTERIOR: VERY aged from the Az sun and Az heat has been hard on it will need a full resto there too. much of the dash plastic is broken or brittle, but most ofthe buttons seems functional . No radio of course. and the ignition switch moves, but feels like its broken. Previous owner added a pushbutton switch for the starter too. This car was equipped with a rear window defroster and A/C Dr side window regulator too I think is bad, window wont stay in the track. Hard to go up and down. Check out the pics, its rough, but its still much less costly to restore then chasing rust for days on end and fixing body rot. Trunk is extremely nice and solid. SUSPENSION: just the way Triumph built it back in the day cant tell what all is worn, but any parts needed would be easy to find. Tires are old and just rollers. Original steel wheels nic BODY: Nice Az body and the desert has been very good to it like almost all the cars we have been selling on ebay over the years. very rust free and straight sheet metal front to back. The worst part: pass side door hinges are worn out and there is a dent on that door and part of the body. You can see it in the pics if you look close. I believe all the paint to be original, which means no bondo underneath or surprises later on !Rubber F/R bumpers getting a little brittle as you may expect from a desert car. EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE THE PICS BELOW SPEAK VOLUMES but Im sure I may of overlooked some stuff. Check out over 100 pics below, be patient it may take a minute or 2 for them to all load. NO ReserveBid Early and bid smart so you dont lose out !! ALL THE PICS BELOW ARE OF THE ACTUAL CAR YOU ARE BIDDING ON AND TAKEN LAST WEEK THESE CARS ARE ON THE RISE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE GETTING MUCH HARDER TO FIND.. Affordable when compared to most of the collector cars. Az cars are well known for being the best cars to buy for a quaility restoration project. How many restored cars can say they have 90% of their original sheetmetal ? Our older AZ desert survior cars are more like time capsules most of the country isnt use to seeing.
